Voters trust Repubs more on 6 out of the 10 major issues facing the United States today.....including the economy. Voters = the only ones who matter on key issues.

Voters Now Trust Republicans More than Democrats on Economic Issues

Voters now trust Republicans more than Democrats on six out of 10 key issues, including the top issue of the economy.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 45% now trust the GOP more to handle economic issues, while 39% trust Democrats more.

This is the first time in over two years of polling that the GOP has held the advantage on this issue. The parties were close in May, with the Democrats holding a modest 44% to 43% edge. The latest survey was taken just after General Motors announced it was going into bankruptcy as part of a deal brokered by the Obama administration that gives the government majority ownership of the failing automaker.

Voters not affiliated with either party now trust the GOP more to handle economic issues by a two-to-one margin.

Separate Rasmussen tracking shows that the economy remains the top issue among voters in terms of importance.

Republicans also now hold a six-point lead on the issue of government ethics and corruption, the second most important issue to all voters and the top issue among unaffiliated voters. That shows a large shift from May, when Democrats held an 11-point lead on the issue.

For the eighth straight month, Republicans lead on national security. The GOP now holds a 51% to 36% lead on the issue, up from a seven-point lead in May. They also lead on the war in Iraq 45% to 37%, after leading by just two points in May and trailing the Democrats in April.

Fewer voters see national security as a very important issue this month, but confidence that the United States and its allies are winning the War on Terror is at its highest level since February.

Republicans lead the Democrats on immigration for the third straight month, pulling ahead to a 35% to 29% advantage on the issue.

On taxes, the GOP leads the Democrats for the fifth straight month, 44% to 39%. In May and April, Republicans held six-point leads on the issue.

Democrats continue to hold the lead on the issues of health care, Social Security and education. While Democrats have a 10-point advantage on health care, that’s down from the 18-point lead the party had a month ago.

Democrats lead by six points on Social Security, down from nine points in May. The parties were tied on the issue in April.

On education, Democrats hold a 44% to 37% lead over Republicans.

The parties are tied on the issue of abortion for the second straight month, each earning 41% support from voters.

The question remains: Will they trust Republicans more in 2010, when it's all on the line?

If the Repubs disappeared and were replaced with the fuzzy bunny party...we'd have a rabbit running the show in 2012. Its all about the economy.

If things keep going the way they are going?  Yes.  One act of terror on U.S soil and Obama is finished.

Further, the Libs are under some deluded impression that while the Repubs are getting smaller, that they, the Dems are getting bigger. Wrong...its the "what have u done for my pocketbook indy's, that are growing. Hense the massive entitlement pushed by the Dems. Gotta solidify that welfare base.

Rasmussen.... hahahahahahaha....  When you look and the average of polls, that little dot out there in the middle of nowhere all by itself is usually Rasmussen...  Useless polling service.

I think Rasmussen had Obama and mccain tied in the days leading up to the election.  I think Mccain may have even had a 1-point lead in that final week.  We all know how that worked out.

Bullshit, they poll only the voters.  The people who matter.  They don't include bandwagon riders and "progressive thinkers" who don't do shit with their right to vote.  Why is this poll garbage?  Can you show me another poll from recently that discredits the one I have posted?

Translation = It doesent say what I want it to so it's certainly garbage.  As for the previous poll, maybe voters thought differently when they cast their vote.  I'm merley posting what is thought to be a pretty credible poll that says the public trusts repubs more on 6 out of the 10 most important issues that face us today.   Can you provide a recent poll that says different?

they're often nowhere close to other polls.  Especially during elections.  If that's upsetting for you, sorry.  I put them in the same category as Hannity's phone in poll :D

Upsetting?  I merely asked you to post a poll that shows differently.  Can you do that or no?  Do you have credible data that states that Rasmussen is a poor and inaccurate poll?  Real hard data from a credible source(s).  I'm not trying to be wise here.

Ramussen doesn't take into account the fact that poor/desperate people are more likely to vote than they used to be.

Remember the lines in Georgia and FL, a mile long, a week before the election?  not too many repubs in those lines.

And poor ppl are less likely to have phones as well.  Those without phones don't get polled.

personally, I don't trust either party right now on any issues.  I'm just saying, Rasmussen is often very far off the mark of other polls, especially taken during elections which is why they're one of the polls I trust the least.

Of course.  If Rasmussan said voters trusted Dem's more on 6 out of the 10 most importance issues facing us today, I'm sure they woulden't agree with the poll  ;)

I put it this way: Obama is digging his own politicial grave. The conservatives may throw him in it; but, it's the moderates who will either bury him or pull him out!!
