I like his last appearance with Keith Olbermann where he ruined the Republican Party and the Anti-Global Warming deniers. :)

Global warming is a hyped up myth that Al Gore refuses to debate.  There are many places this year that wont even have a summer!

Go ahead....are u going to quote from that NASA idiot who's own people think is deranged. We read the science reports to TA, u don't have a monoply on all things global warming. Why's AL being very quiet as he tries to get legislation past. Maybe because if a light is shown on it..enough real scientists will gather in front of Congress and illustrate why Al's full of shit and stands to make millions if all this BS goes through.

It was obvious to anyone listening this was the case to anyone with half a brain and some common sense.

Anyone that is, except the "lipstick" crowd that loves to twist words around in an attempt of mock outrage.

All they accomplish however is being laughed at further.

Okay 333386 i can understand peoples hesitation to believe in global warming because they see hot and cold days still etc etc.

I'm not trying to convince you or bombard you with studies to show it is in fact happening.  BUT i will ask you this.  Do you honestly think it is a good thing to have coal buring into the air, to use all the oil reserves over time, to pollute water to the point where it will become undrinkable and unlivable for life, to use and continue to use CFC's and other atmosphere reducing chemicals, these are things which are undisputable.  whether the earth is warming because of these things is not my point, my point is that you can't honestly think that we are helping anything by polluting the way we are do you?

I don't have a major issue with Nuclear plants.  It is a cleaner burning fuel than coal it's issue is the disposal.  I think provided there can be sufficent storage nuclear power is a great intermediate solution until science can come up with a more efficient way to harness the wind, sun, lighting, water etc etc.

Pollution is the cause of global warming though.  This is the point.  It can be combatted but whether the effects can be reversed are yet to be known.  Lets say global warming doesn't happen as quickly as was first thought.  How are we going to deal with the continued lack of clean water? Clean air and green spaces? These are the issues at hand and ones that people need to take more seriously.  I don't care if you don't believe in global warming or not i just care that you can see the continued pollution of earth is not worth the short term benefit of money when there are other ways.

If my choice is living in a tent, rolling energy blackouts, the govt monitoring my energy usage, rations, price controls, unreliabile tech, than I am fine with buring coal.

That's not your choice.  Thats a very extreme view of things and rather ignorant considering no one said that is the only way.  Like i said pollution is not the answer but cutting everything off isn't either.  It's investing and finding alternative ways to both increase energy for a growing country (and world) and balance that with less pollution while maintaining a strong economy and energy sector.

When people start caring more about what the bottom line means to not only them but the planet and those around them, then we will start making progress.  I truly hope Obama (and who ever is the next president) invest heavily in alternative means, allow tax breaks for companies that use American workers to get those technologies and utilize the American workforce which is desperate for work to achieve these things.

I agree with you to an extent, however I dont see the tech out there that can replace nucs or clean coal as an energy source.

Additionally, I dont think it is smart to hamstring our economy while China and India will NEVER adopt the same stringent policies we are seeking to impose on ourselves.

I have no problem with drilling, nuclear power, hydro, etc, and whatever will work that will not be an additional burden on people.

The tech isn't their because the investment and priority isn't there.

Who cares what China and India do.  It won't hamstring the economy when America becomes the world leader in alternative energy and green resources and everyone wants and needs that tech to continue forward.  America will then continue as the pinnacle of the economic world because they were the first the dump massive money and priority into this new effective way of doing things.  Or continue on as is and watch as china and india pass you anyway because they have more man power and america is reduced to a once superpower now nuclear power like britain, france, russia.

Letterman doesn't write his own material.
They should have fact checked.

Pretty poor taste.

Anyone remember when Obama got his panties in a bunch because someone attacked his wife?

Obama To Tenn. GOP: "Lay Off My Wife"
Democratic Candidate Fires Back At Online Video By State Party Targeting Remarks Made By Michelle Obama

WASHINGTON, May 19, 2008

(AP)
Democrat Barack Obamahas a message for Tennessee's Republican Party: "Lay off my wife."

Obama, his party's presidential front-runner, and his wife, Michelle, were asked in an interview aired Monday on ABC's "Good Morning America" about an online video last week by the state's GOP taking her to task for a comment some considered unpatriotic.

"The GOP, should I be the nominee, can say whatever they want to say about me, my track record," Obama said. "If they think that they're going to try to make Michelle an issue in this campaign, they should be careful because that I find unacceptable, the notion that you start attacking my wife or my family."

He called the strategy "low class."

The video, posted on YouTube, centered on remarks Michelle Obama made while campaigning in Wisconsin last February, when she said: "For the first time in my adult life, I am really proud of my country."

The four-minute video replayed the remark six times, interspersing it with commentary by Tennesseans on why they are proud of America. In a news release that included a link to the video, Tennessee's GOP said "the Tennessee Republican Party has always been proud of America." It urged radio stations to play "patriotic music" during Michelle Obama's visit to Nashville last Thursday.

Michelle Obama later clarified the remark, saying she meant she was proud of how Americans were engaging in the political process and that she had always been proud of her country.

"Whoever is in charge of the Tennessee GOP needs to think long and hard about the kind of campaign they want to run, and I think that's true for everybody, Democrat or Republican," Obama said in the ABC interview, adding: "These folks should lay off my wife."

Obama said his wife "loves this country. For them to try to distort or to play snippets of her remarks in ways that are unflattering to her is, I think, just low class. I think that most of the American people would think that as well."

Tennessee's Republican Party was roundly criticized in March, including by likely presidential nominee John McCain, for a news release that used Barack Obama's middle name — Hussein — and showed a photo of him wearing what it said was "Muslim attire."

The release ultimately was removed from the party's Web site at the urging of the state's two Republican senators and Republican National Committee Chairman Mike Duncan, who said he "rejects these kinds of campaign tactics."

Palin is crazy (big suprise) making an issue of this.

most rational people will realize this was an honest mistake and Palin will come off looking dumb and disingenuous (big suprise) for pretending that Lettermans intention was to suggest the rape of her daughter.
In fact, the only one who made that suggestion was the Palins themselves

I'd expect a real leader to take the high road and not actual create controversy where none exists

Remember when Obama told everyone to lay off Bristol Palin and said ENOUGH!  Then going on to explain how his own mother was an unwed teenager when she had him and that families are off limits.

Nope.  But if he said it, that was a good thing.  Kids of politicians should be off limits.

Even if Letterman was talking about Palin's older daughter, it was still in poor taste.

you know she probably should because Letterman would probably treat her with kid gloves but now that she called him a pervert and her husband has suggested that he has to keep his daugher away from him I think any goodwill from Letterman is probably gone.

the other problem is that Letterman would probably get her to acknowledge that his comment was not about raping her 14 year old daughter and that would make her look like even more of a dingbat media whore.
