try to remember it was a different time, he was a freak!!! do not compare him with todays pot bellied bodybuilders. yes, they were lighter and smaller, but their waists were much more inline. Most importantly, he is still alive.

Well that may have been the case with Casey Viator.Alot of guys think more is better when it comes to drugs, and they wind up ruining there physique and wearing out there receptors.
To the point there body looks like shit, or looks worse,and there body doesnt respond to anything anymore.
In bodybuilding there is a peak, then a decline.This all has to do with the foundation you build naturally.I waited until I was 32 years old and 250lbs before I used any anabolics.
To many guys hop on the juice at 19, or 20 years old, and there body is shot by the time they are 24-25 years old.

I wonder about that too but look at guys like Arnold and, in a different era, Lee Priest. I don't think their bodies were shot by the late twenties.

I still don't understand this wearing out of the receptors business. Can anybody explain that in layman's terms. VanB? gh15?

Wearing out the receptors in Laymans terms is like taking to much caffiene or Ephedra and wearing out your addrenal glands.
If you start out by taking 1 fat burner a day, within 2 weeks you will probably need 2 pills to get the same energy rush .
If a person takes to many drugs or doesnt give his body a break the body becomes saturated with that drug.Therefore it no longer repsnds to the drug, or it takes twice the dosage to get the same results.
Another good example is I knew a guy who took pain medication.He would take 3-4 pills a day, but after a year he had to take 8-10 of them to get the same effective.
The body has adapted to the feeling and now has built a tolence to the medicatio he was using, but then abusing.
Steroids like ay drug,if over used the body builds a tolerance to.Once this happens you have to stop using them for atleast 6 months, or increase your dosage

I don't think it can be explained by "wearing out of receptors" specifically. But the guys who dump a lot of drugs into their bodies early on just seem to fall apart quicker. You could say they take a fast track to where others are much later on, peak earlier. I don't know, maybe they could be better ultimately if they took it a bit slower.

i suppose you never saw lee priest or even a person called arnold S at ages 17-19. Priest was a freak at 16. fro memory he won the mr. australia at 17.

gaspari and even platz looked at least as good as viator at 19...im sure theres loads more..
