400 @ 17 yrs old has to be some kind of world record....you must have a pic or some sort of documentation for either.

SS, his "proof" is some article in a bodybuilding rag......and you KNOW they never exaggerated claims, use fake plates, etc....

All I know is if I was benching 400lbs @ 17 yrs old, then benching 535lbs shirtless @ 185lbs all while being clean..... I would def make sure to have some kind of documentation, video or even a pic.

Coach is so old that when he was 17 there was no such thing as cameras.

I was 23-24 with the 535. The 400 was done in the gym, it wasn't a one time lift, it was done on a pretty regular basis. At that time I was training with Rory, a dude named Eddie Holms and Ellis "spanky" Evans. We were training at Olympus Gym in Whittier and Montebello and Muscle Digest gym. Donald and Gordon Wong were there as well as Lou Zwick.

The Ugly is also friends with someone who saw my lifts. The Ugly, you know who I am referring to!

That's very impressive lift. The all time world record for the 181lb weight class raw stands at 556lbs by Rick Weli in 1986, so you were only 21lbs less. Your age is also impressive as most people aren't near their peak strenght that young.
