Author Topic: Why Jay can regain the Olympia title (Read 5211 times)

Granted, this yrs Olympia lineup may be the toughest in history.
Here is my breakdown of my Jay can get by the other top guys and take back the title.
* Assume that Jay comes in ripped ,round and full, ok. If not , he loses.

Jay vs Dexter - Dexter is incredible, but in the Olympia, size rules. Jay has a lot more width in the upper body than Dexter and has better calfs and thigh shape. Jay's back can now hang with the best and is an asset for him.

Jay vs Victor - Victor has all the physical tools needed to win the Olympia. I just think that Jay will be harder and more separated than Victor. Jay has shown more sheer muscularity , more often then Victor.
BOTH men are close in physique and for me it comes down to which one wants it more and is willing to come in ripped and shredded. My money is on Jay here comming in more ripped than Vic.

Jay vs Kai - I honestly think that Kai has the best shot to beat the other top guys , if he shows up in ASC winning condition. Jay needs to be bigger and thicker than Kai to beat him, which I believe he can be.
If Kai comes in ripped with a few lbs of quality muscle added, it may be his show to lose. I am betting that Kai won't be able to do that so soon after the ASC recent win. I sure as hell wouldn't want to be in the OLympia and have it come down to the posing round against Kai. Jay needs to nail it for the prejudging and put him away then. I honestly feel thata Jay can beat Kai in most of the mandatory poses, but, Kai is light yrs ahead on the posing routine and could light it up , steal the title with a great show if it was close.

Jay vs Heath - I love the physique of Phil Heath and am a huge fan . BUT, if Jay comes in ripped and full he is just too wide for heath to deal with. End of story.

Jay vs Wolf - Wolf has the width and structure but is weak in the calfs compared to Jay.
I have yet to see Wolf with the muscle density that Jay has shown at his best either.

he's looked so bad for the past few yrs its hard to imagine him bein much different,,, whatever he does or whatever weight he is, if he's not totaly shredded he may as well not bother turning up...

this may be the toughest olympia in terms of theres no stand out winner, but lets get real, its a poor imitation of the 90's....

I don't know if he can ever regain that condition he had years back. It's been 2 years of missing it.

you guys got it all wrong. Jay will win because he is the most marketable. The last time they took a gamble and lost miserably. That's why Jay is putting out all of his videos of him training and shopping and taking a shit. He's doing advance marketing to show that he can sell. Why are you talking about the Mr. O as if it were a "comptetition." It's a competition like professional wrestling is a competition.

very good point, dexter jackson sucks.....he is one of the most uninteresting and uninspiring mr. olympia's to date.....im sure companies like weider and muscletechs bottomlines were both affected by having a classless black with a rather forgettable physique as mr olympia.....also, the olympia, for better or for worse, actually works out better when the same guy holds the title for many years in a row....there are only a few, three, four, five top bodybuilderes in the pro ranks at one time, .........if most of them retired with a mr. olympia title, it takes away from the prestige of the mr. olympia............say this year kai takes it, then victor finally shows up next year, then the year after that phil heath.........thats is every top pro having a title, so the mr olympia title becomes a nice thing to have but rather meaningless in the grand scheme of things.....just my opinion

LOL, maybe? I am hopeful some of the judging is legit. C'mon if Vince Goodrum or me got up on the Olympia stage "as is", I doubt we would win no matter who we gave a BJ.

veins are primarily genetic, like good calves, or a small waist, or shreaded glutes.....it is possible for one ot be shreaded without being overtly veiny, i.e. ken wheeler

30lbs of MASS, could include "non lean mass" (aka fat mass or bone mass, etc)

No, because muscle mass also includes intramuscular fat and water. Lean muscle mass is what you have when you lose the fat inside your muscles and the water by cutting carbs. The fat and water inside the muscle is usually included when you say "muscle mass", but that doesen't look like contest muscle. Lean muscle mass is only the contractile protein part of the muscle - the actin and myosin.
