That Southern Comfort doesn't go down well for us Yankees.
Doesn't go down well north of the border, neither. We even have an even worse one. Name's Yukon Jack and that'll have you projectile vomiting 2x as fast as SC.  :-X

I struggle with tequila to this day from a much similar experience.

The drunkest I ever got was one day when I came home from work, I had a full bottle of Cuervo in the cabinet. I figured I'd have a little night cap; 2 or 3 shots.

2 or 3 turned into damn near the whole bottle and when I woke up the next morning my upstairs neighbor was lying next to me naked. To this day, I still have no idea how exactly it all went down and how I talked her into bed but it took me a good hour to crawl to bathroom, I was throwing up on the way in a backpack that was lying next to my bed.

Horrible experience.

Wow! You're a better man than me, Cal. I think maybe the last time I had some SC was in uni. Just beers, ciders, wines and the occasional(s) G&Ts for me, these days. Carry on, bro.  :)

Bit of a chick's drink, tbh.

If I'm going for a "feminine" alcoholic beverage it has to be Sailor Jerry's.

is that true?

I was watching 'cash Cab' recently

and pone of the questions was

'What is the southern state where the people have the least number of teeth?'

the answer was West Virginia :D

I could be wrong in specifically saying West Virginia but there are a few states where Wal-marts do sell liquor....(it might have been Virginia I was thinking about.)

Here's a link that talks about it; although I don't know how credible the source is....

I travel alot for Business and i have to go to the deep south and that means Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Mississippi, Tennessee and the rest of the deep south and never seen any liquor. I live in Florida and never see it.

I've seen Jack Daniels on a shelf in Wal-Mart.

I used to travel all the time; I said it was West Virginia but I very well could be wrong with that particular state.

Here is an excerpt from that article : Wal-Mart has sold beer and wine as well as limited amounts of hard liquor for years. Alcohol sales accounted for about $1 billion out of the company's $285 billion in sales for the fiscal year ended Jan. 31. Wal-Mart executives have privately said the retailer aims to quintuple alcohol sales to $5 billion in the next five years, according to several spirits executives, who were briefed on its plans.

When Wal-Mart opened a new store in Pineville , Mo. , last January, it borrowed a well-worn trick from the liquor industry: planting a liquor store just over the border of a state or county with restrictive booze laws. Shoppers from Wal-Mart's hometown of Bentonville often make the 10-mile drive to Pineville to stock up on liquor. The new store, featuring a separate 5,000-square-foot section selling 750 milliliter bottles of Johnnie Walker Black Label and Hennessy cognac for less than $29, has been a success, Wal-Mart has told suppliers. By contrast, a nearby independent liquor store, Hilltop Liquor & Tobacco Store, was recently selling the same size bottles of those two brands for about $35 and $34, respectively.

Yes, because us northerners are a different species than the humans found down south  ::)
