Key word....ACCUSED, NOT convicted!!!! He was accused of a number of things, ultimately shown to be false. And, the father of that kid who supposedly described his genitals is on tape, making statements about how much money he could get out of Jackson, instead of any woeful anguish about what supposedly happened to his child.

Also, keep in mind that there were many celebrities, who hung around with Jackson as children WHO CAME TO HIS DEFENSE.

As for the 2005 case, the accuser's mother had a rap sheet a mile long, loaded with frivolous lawsuits. George Lopez and Chris Tucker knew about her and warned Jackson to steer clear of this family.

That particular kid, after his TV appearance with Jackson, was picked on by his friends and accused of being gay. It was shortly after that started that the accusations of molestation (from ALL of which Jackson was cleared) started to surface.

Add that to the mom realizing that the gravy train she'd been receiving, while Jackson footed the medical bills for her son, and you have an open and shut case.

I think he was absolutely stupid for letting boys sleep in his bed, but if you followed the criminal trial it's pretty obvious that the mother was looking for a paycheck.  Her and her boys had zero credibility.  For example, she trained her kids to lie during her divorce proceedings.  I don't think he molested that kid.  He had a warped view of real life, but I'm not convinced he was a pedophile. 

I think his biggest problem was one many high profile, high earning people share:  he was surrounded by leaches, lived in a bubble, and didn't have any influential person in his inner circle who could get in his face and talk some sense into him.  No one who could grab him by the shirt and say "no, you can't do that."  No one wanted to lose their golden egg.

Either it stems from nobody having the balls to step up and say "Michael, grow some balls man...don't take that, or else they'll just keep taking until you have nothing left."
The other scenario, being a high powered star, is that Michael would dismiss anybody that actually did try and step in because he was gullible and felt because he tried to help anyone and everyone, that nobody would attempt to take advantage of him.
We'll probably never know, but I would venture to guess that it's somewhere in between the aforementioned theories.

Everyone keeps talking about him bleaching his skin.  Do you actually know any real person who has done this?  Do you know of a cosmetic surgeon who offers this procedure?  What is it called?  How do they do it?  There are products out there that claim to bleach the skin, but virtually all of them have been exposed as snake oil; they do not work and I liken them to all the various ab products you see for sale on infomercials.  http://www.getbig.com/boards/index.php?topic=276269.0

I know several black people with vitiligo; it is a real condition.  Yes, it manifests as blotchy or spotting discolorations all over the skin and people who suffer from it often use make up (sometimes full body make up) to even it out and make it appear as if their skin is one even color.  If you have a few light patches you use dark makeup to cover them up; if you have many (more than 50%) light patches you use light make up to cover the remaining dark patches to even out the skin tone.  MJ has former cooks and housekeepers who have said he never goes anywhere without a make up kit.

Manipulated photos in photoshop?  Yes.  But I do not believe any black person has successfully bleached his or her skin.

Bleaching the skin is very real and very possible, ...and I've known many people who do it on a regular basis.
there are various substances that can be used to block melanin production in the skin... licorice root etc.,
the most common method is through a 2% solution of hydroquinone. Anything stronger can lead to real complications.

I'm not however aware of anything that can bleach or lighten the skin tone to the extent that Michael's skin was.

As for his suffering from vitiligo. I suggest it is quite possible and highly probably. blacks often have a higher incidence of pigment disorders than whites, ...including albinism.

As a little girl, I knew someone with vitiligo. A neighbour up the street. It started on his nose... and gradually spread across his face. The loss of pigment is such that the skin appears almost pink, ...paler than most caucasians. I strongly suspect that is what Michael suffered from. I remember an interview he did in 93 or thereabout while he was married to Lisa Marie Presley, ...and I remember being struck by the fact that Lisa Marie Presly was more tanned and appeared to have more pigment in her skin than Michael did.
