Pelosi Won't Give Public a Week to Review Text of Health-Care Bill Before House Votes on It

SNIPPET: "At her press briefing on Thursday, Pelosi was asked whether the health-care bill would be handled differently than the stimulus bill, which came up in February. The 1,071-page final text of that bill was posted on the House Appropriations Committee’s Web site late on a Thursday night and then voted on the next day.

“When the stimulus bill came out earlier this year, members and citizens had less than two days to review the final version that came out of the conference committee before it was voted on,” CNSNews.com asked Pelosi on Thursday. “Will you commit to giving Americans at least a week to review the full conference version of the health care bill before it is voted on? And also will you commit to submitting the final version to the CBO [Congressional Budget Office] so that they can report the cost to the public?”

Pelosi would not commit to giving the public a week to review the bill, and did not respond to the question of having the CBO report on the cost of the final bill."

The Patriot Act is an abomination, and so is this so called "Health Care" bill. Any elected official who is presented with a bill that they are not given enough time to read by duty to their country should vote NO on said bill.

hahahah you werent around for a little while bro ive voiced my dislikes with bush time and time again. I dont think he intentionally lied to get us into a war, I dont think he planned 9/11. The patriot act is unconstitutional and thats all that needs to be said about that. Whether it took 5 months to get it passed or whether it was passed in a day isnt my main problem with it although i think we can all see where ramming legislation down our throats gets us and Im very against that as well. You dont just go out and buy the first car you look at do you? if you do youre a salesmans dream...

I agree at least this is getting more attention as obama promised to change washington Im not taking a shot at obama just saying that if he hadnt have run on such a campaign this might not get as much attention.

I also agree on the patriot act i understand that certain actions need to be taken and are necessary but if its unconstitutional its unconstitutional.

There is absolutely no defense to this madness that the congress is pursuing.  Obama/Pelosi are insane in their quest for power, plain and simple.
