The father that refuses to even consider or accept scientific evidence that his son killed himself because of any other reason, I feel for the man who lost his son but blaming it on steroids when evidence says otherwise is wrong

Nobody's bringing up the point that it's not that hard to pass the physical tests to get in.

And certainly, you don't need steroids LOL.

This story is in the UK, but, to pass the US marines physical fitness test, he would need, according to web sites:

1.) 3 pull ups
2.) 50 crunches
3.) 3 mile run in 28:00

Plus, you get plenty of chances and they let you work on it, it's hard to get your ass thrown out for that.

he was carb depleting, and glycogen stores were depleted..that's why he looked so flat..

Yeah I know. I do think that if there's mental illness steroids can exacerbate it. They are psychoactive, no doubt.

Even completely healthy people can have negative mental effects from steroids. The truth is somewhere in the middle, they don't make you a psycho killer but can affect mood, cause heavy anxiety even in the stable individual.

The argument should be made, if steroids were legal, he could have just went to a doctor, like all the other failed gym goers.

His parents can rest more easily knowing, he was in the majority. Most people can't do much in a gym on their own. Remember kids, if you need steroids to achieve in a gym...you have failed.

Definitely a lot more hardcore than the US Marines entry requirement. An elite unit rather than just regular joes, more similar to S.E.A.L. training.

I don't mean to speak ill of the kid, but what's wrong with good old fashioned hard work? He paid the ultimate price.
