said by Republican John Weaver

other tidbits from her own party members:

“There is just no good way to say quitting has made her more qualified to run for higher office,” said veteran GOP pollster Glen Bolger.

“I think Sarah Palin is on the verge of becoming the Miami Vice of American politics: Something a lot of people once thought was cool and then 20 years later look back, shake their heads and just kind of laugh,” quipped Republican media consultant Todd Harris.

So I guess it is really just a "liberal" thing huh?   ::)

It's good to hear from some fellow Conservatives who didn't fall for the act. She was eye candy. Savage nailed it too:

Didn't the female governors of Kansas and Arizona quit their jobs to work for Obama?  Wans't the governor of New Mexico going to quit to work for Obama?

Our current mayor will likely quit to run for governor . . . after giving us that stupid cell phone ban.  You suck Mufi!

I'm not aware of those female gov's (why does the gender matter?) but it seems you're saying they all left a current job to immediately start a new job

Palin will most likely show us all she quit to personally enrich herself

my estimate at this juncture is that she doesn't give a shit about the people of Alaska and, to keep in simple, I don't think she'll ever run for public office again....unless she's broke.

What I hope she will do is start a 3rd party if only so all the wack jobs will be in one area where we can keep an eye on them

Ridiculous.  The female governors who quit their jobs early, and the one male who was going to quit his job, were moving up the career ladder, with all the increased earning potential that comes with the promotion.  If you believe these people quit their jobs as governors of Kansas and Arizona solely to serve the public by taking presidential cabinet positions then you're incredibly naive.

Sebelius and Napolitano left their jobs as governor to become cabinet members (head of Health and Human Services and Homeland Security) and if you think they took those jobs for the pay increase you're beyond naive.  What job offer was it that prompted Palin to quit?  Seems like some part of the story is missing.  You clearly thought so since you previously posted that you're still waiting to hear her explanation.

Do you remember that word salad of reasons she gave?  She didn't want to be a lame duck, she didn't want to cost the taxpayers money, thinks she can do more for the state as a private citizen, etc....  and still you don't believe her.  Cleary you thought her stated reasons were a lie (or at the very least a lie by omission).

Truth.   :)  It is hysterical how people are frothing at the mouth over Palin.  And for what?  You'd think she aborted third trimester babies for a living or something.  She's a terrific American success story.  I'm not convinced resigning was the right thing to do, and I still want to hear her explanation, but I don't think she's going away either.

So....why did she leave.  Maybe you can decipher what this means:

Palin used a basketball analogy on Friday, saying that she saw the "full-court press" of attacks on her and knew that she had to "pass the ball to victory."

A good basketball player, she said, "knows exactly when to pass the ball so her team can win, and that is what I'm doing

It means that her Lt. governor can finish the work that she started and carry out her agenda, because he won't be saddled with a bunch of stupid lawsuits that cost him (and the Alaskan taxpayers) millions of dollars.

so you think that Palin is stepping down so the Alaskan Taxpayers can save a few million dollars on "stupid" lawsuits

hasn't that "cost to Alaskan taxpayer" angle already been proven to be a lie?

what if the Alaskan Taxpayers file more lawsuits against the Lt. Gov?

I'm not buying it

you're saying Palin is quiting her job so Alaska can save money?

Those lawyers were allocated the same amount of $ no matter how many suits come against the gov office.

if there are zero suits, they get paid anyway.
If there are 50 suits, they get paid the same too.

Both sides' pundits admit this excuse doesn't fly.  There are lots of other good reasons for her to leave office.  Get outta that sinking economy ship so it's not her badge in 2012 or 2016 elections... "Yeah, well, you leaft alaska in this mess", etc.

Plus she's ready to get paid, and you can't blame her for that.  She'll make ten million dollars this year without blinking.  The hateful right lecture circuit, fox news, bok deal, etc.
