Why does he keep his legs so far apart. It looks like his knees buckle and it looks akward.

(I THINK) that it would be slightly easier to get down in that deep leg position he begins with without smashing his shins.

Nope. That was quite good. Was this vid edited so we didn't see see his gym stomp entrance?   :D

Still can't see what the issue you have with him is.

It might have something to do with Layme screaming FUK IT UP, charging through the gym, all showman style and other assorted items which, admitably, may be completely genuine and all enhancement for his own personal mental frame.

Personally these pre lift displays make my skin crawl (and probably chimps) - A lot like when I had to endure Kevin Levrone letting me know that he was projecting 100 pound dumbells "in my face".  Just a bit layme.

But, you know, that's about it, it's not exactly a long list of problems, is it.

I think people should only have this opinion if they have reached a high level of strength...

And it's wonderful that you get to express your thinking (outside of work hours, of course, because nobody is going to be paying for that sort of nonsensical conclusion making).

well... HOW THE FUCCK CAN YOU DETERMINE WHETHER HE COULD PERFORM IN LIFT IN THE ABSENCE OFA PROPER PSYCHE WHICH IS INDIVIDUAL TO THE PERSON....

IT IS AN EXTENSION OF HIMSELF TO CREATE A PEAK PERFORMANCE... SOMETHING YOU MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE A CONNECTION WITH...

JESUS CHRIST I DON'T KNOW HERE SOME OF YOU LOT COME FROM

BUT THAT LIFT IS FUCCKING IMPRESSIVE ESPECIALLY IN THE ABSENCE OF PEDS... TO HATE ON HIS PSYCHE UP IS RETARDED AND REDICULOUS.. ONCE AGAINIF YOU ARE THROWING THAT SORT OF POUNDAGE AROUND GO AHEAD...

Debussey's comment was based on the fact that Chimpsey seems to have problems not only with his "gym bravado", but also about how he writes his dvd reviews ect.
He seems to be very hung up in these details about Layne, yet fails to see how helpful he is to people ect.

I can't.

(Which is why I said that it may be completely useful for him - contrary to what you think I said).

But when it comes down to it, is he considered a powerlifter or a bodybuilder? Impressive lifts but what about his Physique? Does the lifts reflect a number 1 top natural bodybuilder?? 8)

Look, I'm sure he's a good guy and all, but the attention-whore/narcissist part of his persona is skeevy, is all.  :)

nope, he uses double overhand grip, tears occur with underhand grip.

I bought straps so i could start using double overhand, i can't hold anything over 300lbs with double overhand grip without straps. So layne has insane grip strength aswell.

Umm...not talking about that.  Talking about how he squats down and then accelerates up.  The rapid "straightening" of the arms is going to either cause a tear at the elbow or a SLAP lesion (where in the bicep tendon tears away from the labrum).

P.S. Layne is not on pro hormones.  Care to display your proof of such?

Damn strong, uses alot of lower back in that lift but it seems to work for him.  I also don't get the screaming and stomping thru the gym.  That display, along with posing countless videos of himself, is a desperate cry for attention.  I wonder what in Layne's life happened to cause such internal emptiness?  Why the void Layne?  Did daddy ignore you when you were a little guy?

I always used to go down to maybe 1 inch off the ground then go up. Thought it kept more tension on the muscle and made the movement harder.

That's how I do it, too.  I can go a bit heavier on those occasions when I floor it for each rep, but prefer to keep it off the ground.

Still impressive, though.

I've never heard of a serious deadlifter getting lower back injury. only recreational lifters lifting with weird form.

inuries in deadlifters are always bicep or ham tears.

HottDamn! My inguinal hernia would have ripped through my nutsack attempting that.

Say what you will about BioLayne but he would bury 99% of this group that posts here.
