Brutal jelousy, is your 1rm 315? haha.
If you were deadlifting 615x3 then you could complain about the way he prepares himself, otherwise, SHUT THE FUCK UP.
I think Layne IS natural, but i agree that Eric Broser, Kyoshi Moody, John Hansen and Jeff Willet are fucking scumbag liars worse than IFBB pros.
315lbs for three controlled reps at 170lbs is pretty good for someone who's NOT lying, my natural friend. Speaking of natural. I was natural at the time. I put on 65lbs naturally before hitting this lift. Sometimes my shoulder is okay on flat bench but I'm just not comfortable with it. No bodybuilder, especially one my size needs to be doing heavy flat bench like that. I honestly don't think I should do more than 185lbs for my work sets, with a couple sets with 225lbs just to maintain strength. I train with intensity and intelligence, not ego.
If I started doing brutal strength training again like DC training then I know I can easily hit that again. But it's not worth it. Heavy lifting gets to a point where risk outweighs benefit by far. I think heavy lifting is paramount for gaining thickness, natural or enhanced. However the less "enhanced" you are, the less extremely heavy lifting. Just a few super heavy sets here and there, then a little lighter weight. Every big guy I know lifts like this and while I'm only a bit over 180lbs right now and dieting, I'm still lifting heavy, my physique is very full and I'm making progress.
There are a couple world record power lifters in my gym. NONE of them make noises or stupid displays like those. Those displays are for the psychologically weak.
Exactly. No need to stomp around and draw attention. Layne looks like he banged back a gram of metribolone (cheque drops) before every lift.
I think Layne doesn't realize a lot of things.
For example if he truly is Natty all of that super-heavy, insane training is beating the shit out of his CNS and actually hampering his progress
Yes. All the Xtend in the world can't stop a "natural" lifter's CNS from taking such a huge hit. I'm sure catabolism would sky rocket even on the sauce if someone lifted like that all the time. I took a quick glance at his log as the advertisement was plastered all over bb.com and he always lifts like a wank.
I think he'd make more progress if he changed up his training. He does look good in competition with pro tan and professional lighting, but that's the only time. Watch his video logs of him a day or two out, he still looks exactly the same. Dim down the lights and rub a bottle of f*g tan on him and take a picture from a MySpace angle and he looks good.
Unless he's training with periodization where he takes some breaks from that heavy lifting, I don't know what's going through his peanut brain.
