Pretty standard modern olympic weightlifting training. Best way to describe it to someone who is not familair with the training for this sport is pretty similar to the basic exercises in this old clip although with more modern equipment
, and different as follows:
-they often seem to catch the weights on the way down. These days people tend just to drop them.
-they don't seem to use straps much. These days we do, especially on exercises such as shrugs and pulls.
-we also have a range of machines that we can use that maybe did not exist back then (for me typically at the end of a workout to help balance muscles not overly stimulated during olympic lift exercises or to isolate a few muscles) - eg pec dec, pulldowns, cable crossovers, seated rows, calf raises, leg extensions, leg curls etc.
