It's a probability that something out there knows we are here, but the distances are too great, that even a radio signal takes tens of thousands of years to reach us.
so they are observing us through a super powered telescope type device, correct?
well, makes sense. im sure there are some planets out there with that capability...
but think about this.. some of the galaxies our hubble space telescope have looked at, are so far away...that the light from the galaxies is estimated to have had to have taken hundreds of millions of years to reach us... so when our telescope gives us a picture of that galaxy...we are looking at that galaxy as it was a few hundred million years ago. literally looking into the past.
so if some planet is watching us right now, they are millions and millions of years in the future.
who knows....maybe in the future the people from earth traveled great distances and now they are on the other side of the galaxy looking back into their own past !
