I get what you are saying, but having a general idea of what you personally want to achieve is good.

i never wanted to look like someone else.
I just enjoyed lifting , feeling my body nerves muscles etc, feeling healthy, that's why i kept lifting. Then changes resulted . We re talking about the functionning of motivation here.
Most noobs think that they will look like schwarzeneger after 3 hours in the gym or with their plastic home gym, then they quit realizing they re not going to look like the person they ideolize and that lifting weights/being healthy is about a lot of others things than just looking like the guy you see in the magazines.
