Indeed, if political figures stand for ideas, victimization is what Ms. Palin is all about. It is her brand, her myth. Ronald Reagan stood tall. John McCain was about service. Barack Obama has hope. Sarah Palin is a collector of grievances. She runs for high office by griping.

To become a symbol of this stature Ms. Palin has had to do the opposite of most public figures. Where others learn to take hostility in stride, she and her fans have developed the thinnest of skins. They find offense in the most harmless remarks and diabolical calculation in the inflections of the anchorman's voice. They take insults out of context to make them seem even more insulting. They pay close attention to voices that are ordinarily ignored, relishing every blogger's sneer, every celebrity's slight, every crazy Internet rumor.

it didn't work, since it was another woman, Couric, who pretty much convinced the world that palin wasn't all that bright.

I guess the left had enough of being beat by the lowest of low tactics that we saw from guys like Karl Rove. Don't even try to say for a second that he didn't employ some of the dirtiest politics yet. That's the problem you have when one side drops all ethics to win. The media can be obsessed without making up lies cant they?Or are they so pathetic that lies are news.Any proof of the baby story,the book burnings,the ethics charges,the plagerism story by Olberman,trooper gate,ALL PROVEN LIES.They can be obsessed with her but cant they actually do REAL reporting without making up lies.Its one thing when little nit wits on here make up lies but you would think the media might do their job and report,not make up,the news.

Did you happen to see the new Gallop poll that had Palin slightly trailing Romney for 2012 nominee.Her approval rating among republicans is at 72%.Thats a very different picture then what you guys have been painting.Can you imagine a 72% approval rating after this year?
