In an interview with CBS News, President Barack Obama noted that increasing taxes on the wealthy is a ‘good idea’ when it comes to finding a way to pay for his proposal to nationalize the healthcare industry. As noted in my previous article, increasing taxes is nothing new for Obama or any other Democrat – it is simply what they do. However, it was somewhat disturbing to hear how Obama described the wealthy. Here are a couple of statements from his interview:

I think the best way to fund it is for people like myself, who have been very lucky and are in the top -- not just 1 percent, but top half percent -- of the income ladder to pay a little bit more.

The general notion that those of us who are the best off can pay a little bit more upfront to help reform a system that will save us money over the long term, I think that's a good idea.

First off, the latter statement is certainly reminiscent of Obama’s ‘spread the wealth around’ comment that he made to Joe the Plumber during the presidential campaign. Of course in this case he is saying that the wealthy should pay more so that the poor will save money. But as the CBO has just reported, there is no guarantee that the current healthcare reform proposals will do anything to actually save money and are more likely to increase costs instead.

This is what we get when we elect a person who does even grasp the most basic concepts of economics and how wealth is generated.

He is lucky because he made millions selling books based on a rock star image the media created for him.

However, a doctor, lawyer, inventor, engineer, etc who starts a busioness and takes 10 - 20 years to takes risks to become wealthy is far from lucky.  For a president of the USA not to understand this is scary and shows why his policies will all fail.

I have been reading many economics books the last year and it is shocking to see the complete ignorance and stupidity of every single one of Obama's policies. 

Obama may be "educated," but he is not smart when it comes to how the economy works.  Had he simply worked a day in the private sector, held a job, something, anything, he would not be pushing these insane policies.

Lucky - winning the lottery
Lucky - sleeping with Eva Mendes (although that may take skill for an average joe to get her to that point)
Lucky - Uncle you never knew dies and leaves you millions

Not Lucky - working your ass off for years and years and making good money.
Not Lucky - going to school for many years as a dcotor and finally make big money when you are 45 y/o
Not Lucky - Spending years on inventions and one finally pays off big after dozens failed.

Well, it's true, a lot of the most wealthy are born into it with everything handed to them.  They're there and that's nothing but luck.  These people usually turn out to be the scum of the earth, evil as all hell.  They must get some real special whacked upbringing.  They might as well be reptilians; there is virtually nothing in common with them and the rest of mankind beyond appearances.  Now of course there are people that make it through hard work and intelligence but there are as many if not more that make it big through unscrupulous means and thus win out over any honest competition.  Make no mistake about it, the super wealthy are primarily made up of evil scum who deserve no respect whatsoever.  Yea I know you will all disagree and I really don't give a flying fuck, I know what these people are and I see nothing respectable in it.

yeah...but not exactly parents supporting...its an inheritance of sorts...dads just keeps my share invested and i see no reason to touch it now....(my day to day maintenance is minimal...i drive a pos civic..my girl and myself are pretty much stay at home ..read and watch the tube people...i might spend around $30/day...not much)

the $ goes from investment into escrow and the cycle is repeated...

  i say on here that i live at home..i actually live between home...and my girls...depending on what i'm feeling like...and in the past i've rented apartments at beaches and stayed at several places at once..driving from place to place as the mood would strike me..although i payed for these working nites at bars n clubs...party jobs i call em!

but yes i AM a bad example, i agree...however when i've focused i HAVE been able to work hard and accomplish what very few on the planet have done...now i'm gonna pass my CCIE soon and there r only 20 some thousand on the planet....sometimes having options to fuck around is determental...

Haha, you would be saying different if you had a grasp of what it took to get into a t-14 law school and one of Harvard's caliber. Most people in schools like that could easily go other routes and get PhDs, MDs or whatever it is they want. There's a difference between your night school lawyer at bumfucksville U and a Harvard lawyer.

And for what it's worth, to even have a shot at editing the Harvard Law Review like Obama did, you need to be in the top 10% of your class at Harvard. So he was among the smartest of some incredibly smart people.
