"Ben Loehrer is not a teen, but he won the overall NPC Teen Nationals.

Gary Udit clearly lists the shows rules on his website:

Teens
Teen Bodybuilding, Teen Figure, Teen Bikini and Teen Fitness competitors must be 19 years of age and under as of the date of the contest and must submit proof of age with entry.

On the day of contest, Ben Loehrer was 20 years old. According to his facebook page he admits that his date of birth is July 8th, 1989!"

It is, Rules states you cant be 20.

My friend also turnes 20 two days before his comp, and would have won the HW and placed really good if he was allowed in the teens

This was not a special circumstance for one competitor.

My goal has always been to open doors for competitors to realize their goals and I never thought it was out of line to grant a 30-day grace period when someone requested it.

I have always granted a 30-day grace period for competitors in either of the two following situations:
1. Teen competitors who turn 20 shortly before the event.
2. Men Over 40/50/60/70 competitors who turn 40/50/60/70 shortly after the event.

However, it is obvious that this cannot continue and I will not grant grace-period exemptions in future events. I support whatever decision the NPC hands down relative to the placings in the 2009 NPC TEEN NATIONAL BODYBUILDING CHAMPIONSHIPS.

This sucks, but Benjamin is head and shoulders over all the other competitors and he is going places. I am sure he will do great at the USA's and beyond.

I didn't say he'd win a pro card this year. I just think he'll do well, and he looks a lot better than the other teen nats competitors, including the kid who now was the overall.

Something fishy went on last year as well with a kid called DJ something, I think.
