Matt Drudge Makes Out's 'Power 50' List, But Denies Being Gay

Matt Drudge, creator of online conservative mouthpiece The Drudge Report, has publicly rejected a prestigious honor bestowed upon him by Out magazine. The gay monthly has placed Drudge at number 6 on its third annual 'Out Power 50,' a list of the most influential gay men and women in America.
Placement on Out magazine’s list is determined by an individual’s political clout, cultural resonance, individual wealth, and current personal profile. Commenting on Drudge, the magazine commented that he “happens to love Chaka Khan, The Young and the Restless, and sex with men.” The blurb ends on a serious note, however, saying of Drudge and his online home that “Unfortunately, his agenda is often anti-gay, anti-choice, and anti-tolerance. No one said power was always used for good.”
In response, through an email interview with Chris Rovzar of New York Magazine, Drudge came up with the most strange, chuckle-inducing response possible: “I do not love sex with men.”
It seems that Drudge, who Out called “coy about his homosexuality,” has just proven that point. If Drudge doesn’t love sex with men, does he only like it? Individuals have come forward in the past and spilled the beans on Drudge’s gay life through personal recollection. David Brock, writer of the memoir Blinded By the Right, recounts the date he went on with Drudge, in which Drudge brought him flowers and “[navigated] the Santa Monica gay strip ‘like a pro.’”
Drudge responded to the rest of Out magazine’s blurb as well, saying, “My site is not anti-gay. I present both sides of the anti-choice-life issue… I liked Chaka in the eighties, and have not watched Young and the Restless in twenty years! But I do watch Judge Judy!”
Now I ask you, what has the world come to when a person can readily and shamelessly admit they watch Judge Judy, but still refuse to admit their own sexuality?
Other top spots on the Out Power 50 list went to Rachel Maddow (4), Anderson Cooper (3), Ellen Degeneres (2) and Barney Frank (in the top spot).
