They don't usually happen very quickly but I've had arm workouts where I'd get a big purple welt and it was the skin stretching hardcore. You could already see tiny fissures in the upper layers of the skin then BOOOM
I've got lat, pec, quad, bicep and tricep stretch marks. At first it was cool because I'm a tiny tit, then it sucked. Now they blend in and you can't see them. It usually gets a lot worse before it gets better though.
