Weider kept him out on purpose, as in 71 he was quite comparable to Schwarzenegger. It's remarkable that the olympia has any value considering some of the hijinks over the years involving Schwarzenegger and Columbu.

You're posting a photo from the 1971 Mr Universe ( NABBA ) where he LOST to Bill Pearl he couldn't make it past Pearl that year never mind Arnold

Sergio was always too soft.

Everyone says he should have won in 1972, after seeing the pics it wasn't even close. Arnold was bigger and in much better condition. Sergio is said to have nice 'Shape', if he got into better condition i guarantee that 'shape' would have suffered.

Absolutely correct , just because pumpster is willing to overlook his obvious conditioning flaws doesn't mean the judges were , it's always reduced to politics and racism with him , if that were the case Sergio would have NEVER been a multiple winner

always thought this an amazing shot, tight waist, sweeping lats inserting right into the waist, very wide shoulders and excellent defintion. That right bicep looks as long as his head top to bottom!!! :o
