Are you guys fans of decline bench?
« on: July 23, 2009, 09:54:21 PM »
I've only done it a few times and I've been working out seriously for a good 4 years now...

I honestly haven't done it in a while. I remember not liking it...too much blood rushing to my head I guess.

But I want to try new things to improve my pathetic bench. Could this be the answer?

Post this on the training board.

Or else change the title to "Hey pellius, do decline "benches" onto men's penises help your pecs?"

Yep.  I can press way more on decline than on flat or incline.  Isn't that true for everyone? ???

well I inclined 300 after no real weight training when I was 16, but I had benched before... it was not my first time benching, I actually won all the weight lifting comps in our region @ 16 yrs  old, I was a farm kid from Sterling Ma... corn fed guys...ha
I can still incline more than I flat bench nowadays, its kind of weird.

well i like it 104.56x better ;D

most people do more weight because its a limited range of motion even when you touch the chest and go up.

decline always kills my front delts!

Alright I'm gonna give it a try and see how much weight I can do. I like that you say it "kills the front delts" as I think my shoulders may be the weak link preventing me from benching more pounds!

I like it. feel it hits the pecs more than front delts. just the way i'm put together

No such thing as an "ego lift' for me, I use what works

Whatever Groink says, should be set in stone, amended to the Declaration of Independence.

good point.
i always have to find the sweet spot in a bench or it hurts my shoulders, but i was never able to find it with the decline.
the other thing i hate about it is that if you want to move weight that you feel you need a spotter to help un rack it, well at least i do.
