You mean 2435 E North St???  Yes, that's a UPS store in Greenville, SC however I haven't lived there since 2007 but it still shows up some directories.  However, I've always have all of a correspondence mail because I only rented a section of a warehouse and I'm not there on a daily basis.

Currently I have all mail going to a PO BOX and I still rent out warehouse space.  Its less expensive compared to just drop-shipping merchandise and it keeps my business competitive.
i doubt that having debts and not selling shit with a crap internet webshop qualifies as a "business" honnestly.

Its a lot bigger than that but regardless of the size of the warehouse or what it looks like, the key to a good business is taking care of your customers you have and selling quality equipment at a fair and honest price.

First truthfull post Ive seen from Vince.

Its a lot slower progress to build a customer base playing by the rules but its well worth it.

It's also a lot harder to get people to buy from you when you've got basic spelling and grammatical errors on your home page.  You need to get someone to proof-read things for you, cos spelling doesn't appear to be a strong point!

People could care less about that.  They look at price, time of delivery, customer service, and overall support for the merchandise they buy.

Taking care of your customers is the main factor that determines whether you stay in business or not.

So, Melvin, how is business? Do you employ any staff in your warehouse to handle all your orders? You write as if your business is a going concern but the lads here are doubters. What do you do on a day to day basis?

Could you acquire professional used gym equipment and resell it? Brands like Cybex, Medx, Nautilus, Hammer, etc. Do you export out of the states? How much space are you renting for your needs?

Professional gym equipment costs the earth here in Australia and in other parts of the world. Someone could make some money by locating and exporting used pro gear from America. Whether Melvin has the business sense to do this is what we are all wondering about. Could any gym owner trust Melvin to actually send the goods ordered?

If you have followed Melvin's career on line you will know he is a Walter Mitty dreamer. All these plans and little result. Who else but Melvin would acquire a PhD in metaphysics and then post about it here on Getbig? He needs a manager!

Yes Melvince does strike me as the type of guy that if a container arrived at his warehouse full of said gym equipment he would pull out a can opener instead of asking the driver for the key to the padlock that has sealed it shut.

1.  Business is good right now.  Lots of new customers but I depend mostly on repeat buyers

2.  I don't have employees and outsource any services I need.  Its not hard to print a UPS label, slap a label on some equipment and let a driver pick it up or dropping off items at a Post Office.

3.  I will sell company refurbished commercial equipment on occasion but definitely not used equipment because its not warrantied for parts and labor.

4.  No I do not sell Medx, Hammer or Cybrex because I've never checked on acquiring one.  However I have a limited Nautilus account.

5.  1000 sq feet

6.  I ship throughout the United States and Canada only.  Shipping is free for the 48 states, Hawaii, Canada and Alaska is extra.

Most companies will never send equipment internationally due to the shipping expense, duty and greater chance of fraud.  Too risky

And I'm not sure why it would be nessesary, there are a number of equipment manufacturers in Australia.  Fact is that you've obviously never sold exercise equipment before.

I'm going to bed, goodnight

1.  Business is shit right now.No customers but Im offering to suck cock for business

2.  I don't have employees or even a real company, i just live in a trailer and use the internet at the public library

3.  I will sell any old shit but definitely not new equipment because it's too expensive for me to afford.

4.  No I do not sell Medx, Hammer or Cybrex because, see above.  However I found an old Nautilus machine in the dump and tried to sell that.

5.  I once saw a 1000 sq foot warehouse

6.  I ship throughout the United States and Canada only because Im wanted by interpol for being the biggest delusional idiot in the world and i prefer to keep a low profile.  Shipping is free from my AIDS for the 48 states, Hawaii, Canada and Alaska is extra dirty so be careful.

People do care about the basic things like spelling.  These days there are a thousand different websites all offering what you offer, but a lot of them are con artists.  The quickest way to spot a con artist is basic spelling mistakes as they are usually uneducated.  I know a lot of people who will never buy from sites like that, because it shows that they are lacking professionalism.

It takes 10 minutes to get a friend to proof-read your site, and if you're unwilling to do something simple like that, how can your customers expect you to go the extra mile when it comes to providing their products, or following up the sale with good customer service?

Maybe you do have excellent customer service, but people won't find that out until they buy something, and you could be losing a lot of sales because people won't make that first purchase.

People are shopping for merchandise, not looking for spelling errors...... ::)

I keep the site updated and perform regular checks and balances on it to insure secure and safe shopping....not a very easy task.

But again, providing quality customer service and support is the key factor in a successful business.

The guy is giving you some valid pointers and you're acting like he's insulting you personally ::)

People don't go looking for spelling errors, but they do spot them and every little thing counts. It takes ages and tons of effort to get a good name and reputation, but nothing more than a trivial mistake to make a bad impression. Yes, not every single person is going to refrain from making a purchase because you've got incorrectly spelt text, but it will definitely lower your image and performance over time.

If you took pride in what you did, you'd work on correcting the mistakes, instead of rolling your eyes at people who are bothering to give you constructive criticism.

It does take ages and ton of effort however that's through providing quality customer service and support.  Corrections are made when time permits.  Right now, I'm converting the newsletter into a content management system.  Not a very easy task.

As far a spelling errors are concerned, I do know there is a wording issue at the front of the website which will be fixed when time permits.  It requires a little more than just typing in the correct word with a keyboard.  Its built in flash so which requires me to create a brand new file and upload it into the server.

Editing and designing web sites is a very difficult task.  If it wasn't, 240 would not have much business....... ;D

At the end of the day, it's your business Vince, so it's up to you.  I've been involved in managing several businesses, currently a family business which has been trading for nearly 20 years, so I know how important customer service is, but in the current market, every single aspect of your service needs to be spot on.
