Do you use gloves/other accessories for training?
« on: July 27, 2009, 02:00:28 PM »
I have gloves which i only use for bench press because of the wrist support on them, i have these exact ones. My wrists are small so i use the support when im pushing massive poundages  :D  ::) (225x6-8) at the moment :-\

I also have cheap york wrist straps for deadlifting and a Sheik belt like this one, i use belt for deadlift/squats/bent over rows and thats it.

Can you bench 225 for 8 reps with good range of motion?

LOL I got exactly the same. ;D

But they are almost a lil too thick for my taste, you loose a lil grip strenth for pulling exercises (at least before you get used to it). Before I got gloves for not even half the price who suited me significanltly better.

Also use a belt for squats and bent over rows, but no Schiek.

I use to wear gloves and a belt for almost everything. Now i never wear gloves and never wear a belt (including squats, deadlift, rows, etc). The only thing i use now is straps and thats for barbell rows and dumbbell rows sometimes

The problem is that gloves turn you into a total pussy after some time. If you've used them for a while you can't continue without them (with no horny skin at your hands etc.).

If I'd have to hold a 120 pd barbell in my hands with no gloves nowadays I'd cry out in pain. ;D

It separates the men from the fags. If you see a guy wearing gloves in the gym, he is there cruising for cock, no exceptions.

How can you fuck up a bitches skin when your hands are either behind your head while she is blowing you or wrapped around a cold beer ???

I dunno I'm no expert but... I've been lifting for many years and only got a little callus under each knuckle... nothing like my mates who work construction who have a layer of callus on their hands lol...

you have a good point. Ask shossy (my girlfriend's account on here). My hands look horrible. I'm almost ashamed to shake hands with anybody because most of the time when i do they ask me what i have in my hand afterwards. And I have a bruise on the back my thumbs that stays black all the time from the dumbbells rubbing against it. Kind of get into the habit of hiding it.

Even a small callus is probably a huge no-no in the gay community. These gloves wearing queens will try to come up with any excuse, but the fact remains, it's a sign that they are there to suck cock.

And if you can avoid these callus easily, by wearing gloves, why wouldn't you?

Umm, maybe to avoid a teabag while benching. Straight guys don't wear them, this is a fact.

ok, gotcha.

It's not my fault that the ladies prefer the smooth-skinned Metro boys over the hairy ugly construction-worker Musclebears who are afraid of wearing gloves cause they could be considered as gay lol (Closet homo?)

My sister says when I shake her hand in mass it feel very rough.

I also have those permanant bruises.

Only accessories I use in gym are chalk and a dipping belt

I got calluses that i pick the skin off so they bleed so now i use gloves. I tear them up all the time so i buy the leather ones at Wal-Mart in the gardening section 4 about eight bucks. Beats 24 bucks....

I use straps for the last set of every back exercise i do. So i use straps for 3 sets total. Never used gloves.
No doubt about it...
