How many here are 'Fans'?

Definition of a fan

fan: to be a fanatic of; usually athletic exploits of teams/other indivduals

I ask you here: why would you EVER be a fanatic of something another person or team is responsible of?

especially, other than sitting is some freezing stands, that you 'Root' for them?

It is not like you practiced with these guys.

And usually, they hate you...and they laugh at / scoff at you.

they are not, as you think, 'your' team.

I say you should exult in your own athletic exploits and achievements.

Ì for once completely agree with you lax. I hate hardcore fansism (???). And why be a fan of a team? It changes all the time, only thing that stays the same is the name.  :(

Very much agree these sports fanatics are sitting in the stands getting goofy like frat boys.  They can barely afford the expensive tickets and drink prices and they know every detail about every player like they are Gods or something.  All the while these "stars" are making more than the poor fan does all year in a single game.  They are laughing all the way to the bank.  While the frat boys stay drunk and poor financing these guys sucess.  I never give a dime to pro sports.

I have never been to any pro game, whatsoever

actually, wnet to a pro golf tourney once on free tix
took my shirt off, and was reprimanded...left shortly after

Yes I always laugh when i see some doofus wearing a team jacket, usually some overweight 30's -50's guy who looks worse than his age. They will also be wearing the mandatory jeans with gym shoes.  Here you will even see them wearing them out on the town on a Saturday night, with his gal.  An even worse spectacle is the couple with matching team jackets  ::)  I remember this question came up in Playboy and they said any man past the age of 25 wearing a team jacket looks like a fool and we all know Heff knows what cool is.
