I would say that Damon is a far, far superior actor and presence and that much of Affleck's accalim was won on the coattails of Damon.

Afflec has proven himself as a capable director, however.

Is this even a debate? I dont think theres anyone on the planet that considers Ben Affleck a better actor than Matt Damon, add to that the complete horseshit Affleck picks to star in as opposed to Matt Damons great choices and its a wash.

Exactly. Ben's done a few roles here and there in which he did a great job (eg. boiler room), but his fame and reputation is mostly due to his looks, rather than his acting skills. Matt Damon on the other hand is a lot more versatile and talented. And his portfolio is much better and more impressive. It's night and day between the two.

In fairness though if Gone Baby Gone is any indication of Affleck's talent as a director then he can easily redeem himself, great movie.

The camera loves Damon, no question. Affleck surprised me with Gone, Baby, Gone. With the exception of wasting Freeman in a nowhere role, it was very good. That woman who portrayed the White trash mother was chillingly amazing.

To be fair, I think ~~lax~~ Moosejay only has a current Damon obsession because he was told in a loud Blue Oyster bar that he had to see the Bourne Ultimatum with Matt Damon, so the next day came home with this and was amazed by the performance.
