on friday, we'll have a good idea of how well (or if) the stimulus is working to create new jobs.  New jobs report.

No doubt we'll still see a loss, but will it be huge, ala 600k jobs?  Or will we be pleasantly surprised with just 200k lost, with the potential for job growth in Aug or Sept?

If we are still loosing jobs, there is no recovery.  Recovery starts when new jobs are created.  So far the stimulus has had less than desired effects.

Probably 350k - 450k jobs lost. 

240 - you need to realize something, many jobs have been lost already and as the pool of jobs shrinks, its the same as the previous # when you consider the % involved.

UE is going to over 10% and will stay there far longer than you think.

These basic concepts elude the mind of the typical Obama worshipper who tries to spin 350k jobs lost in a month. 

The jobs lost also does not include the many workers who has their hours reduced.  The other key figure to look at is the average work week figure which has also been dropping like a stone.

just a terrible idea.  if you have a decent job and you lose it, 2/3 pay is STILL gonna be more than you get at McD or walmart at 30 or 35 hours.  So you have every motivation in the world to sit on getbig all day instead of getting a job.

You cut the UE time to 2 or 3 months, and you'll see ppl start opening small business, taking part-time jobs, going back to school, etc.  Right now, they have every motive to site home and complain about 'the economy sucks' when they're doing nothing to fix it.

Do we all know at least 1 person who is on UE but isn't hitting the bricks 40 hours a week looking for a job?

Yup.   One of my boyz is milking it big time between that and disability and gets upset with me whan i am stressed out from work.  homeboy wants me to take a few hours off during the middle of day to go to sit around kicking back coronas at a bar. 

I make probably 250 calls a day AT LEAST! 

I am disgusted at his attitude.  I offered him a job but he didnt want it.

Hasn't kicked in yet. It'll take at least another 4 months to trickle down and actually create jobs.

Take FHA for example and the 8000 tax credit; houses are starting to move again; as people start moving in, remodeling (even thought FHA won't allow "fixer uppers", people still upgrade once they move in) this will create jobs...
