No need to arch in order to make the the dumbells look like nothing, arching means you handle the weight...
he can't accept the fact that the big aryan bastard is stronger than his black idol Ronnie.

You need to go back and watch the Unbelievable again...Here is Ronnie Coleman flat dumbell pressing 200 pound dumbells, like they were 80's

Put him on a incline with 210's, and you wouldn't see him arch his back...and this was 5 weeks out from the Mr. O, and I believe that this was the END of his chest work out.

Haven't seen anybody arch their back other than him..And  I guess you do as well? And I've bet you've seen tons of people arching their bach just to get 200's up while doing inclines, since it is so common according to you?

Give it up, this was in another thread prior to this one, and the general consensus is...he couldn't handle the weight...one doesn't arch their back so that they doing laid back-standing dumbell presses.

Stan seems like a powerlifter dabbling in bodybuilding, rather than a bodybuilder dabbling in powerlifting.  I've never even heard of him before this thread.  If he did a few more bodybuilding shows and placed well, he would definitely take the title of strongest BODYBUILDER, rather than  just being known as a powerlifter who can look descent in a thong.  :-\

And how did Ronnie's name come up in this thread?!  There's no comparison.
just not good enough

Show me all those that do, since you made the blanket statement, and I'll show one who doesn't. You are the one who has something to prove...

Arching of one's back has always been the staple of those who can't handle the wieght...Ego lifting.

Exactly, and Ronnie's name came up, becaome Method101 has him stiched in his brain, when not in Texas or guestposing, Ronnie is renting space in Meth's head.

The back should be arched on pretty much every chest exercise there is...that said...there are limits to what extent.

Just getting those ridiculuosly huge weights up into place is impressive enough...let alone banging out reps easily.

If you're flat backed...you're actually in the wrong position.

This guy is one strong mofo...

Ronnie's flat back, in doing the flat dumbell presses. Pretty much  most guys are even when doing inclines. ...but when you arch soo much that your whole back and butt is off the the chair, and you are in a diagonal line to the floor with your legs holding you up...that you know Chick ain't right... if you saw a nwebie doing that you say lower the weight...As you said there are limits, and he is well past that limit.

I saw the video...his position is fine.

As I said....putting the 200's up for 1-2 would be impressive...If you think they are that much easier when arching, feel free to try it yourself...if you can get them off the rack!

I couldn't  ;D. I remember when I first was starting out lifting, and I saw a dude bounce 500 pounds off his chest, and was having severe problems putting it up, his back was arched so much he was making a London bridge. And he needed several dudes to take that weight off his chest.

Now I'm not talking about the natural arch that we have, that is okay.

Errrr, not necessarily.  Stan, like Johnnie, has pulled over 800 lbs in a meet.

I'm sure this event will be a huge success this year... What I'm wondering is next year (2010) which IFBB pros would/could even compete?

Chick, will this be held in the expo?

Is this the same Stan that when doing incline press with 200+ dumbells, he arched his back so that he wasn't even sitting on the bench?

Powerlifters are taught to press their shoulders/traps into the bench when pressing, so naturally the ass can come off the bench if the feet are not set back correctly. i do the same on very heavy incline presses sometimes, but i have seen Stan press 180's with his ass on the bench with perfect form.

He wasn't in a meet and he is still stronger than the other two all day with any form. I've seen this guy lift in person and he has very good form when it counts.

Sure will

So this year the "Strongest bodybuilder in the World" is going to be a one on one with JJ and Ben White.

Is there going to be an actually competition next year? I think it would be quite popular.
