Hey, I am going to a tea party in Sacramento on 8-26.
Any advice for me?
Here is my advice.
1. Be original! Dont use some dumb overused sign. I made a great one got on TV, the news, and had tons of people coming up to me, including the cops, passerbys etc. I will find it and attach it.
2. Think of a few lines if you get interviewed by the media. They want soundbites, not rambling. If they ask you while you are there, be ready with a few short clear concise declaratory statements likely to be included in their story.
3. Dont be stupid! People screaming about the Birth Certificate, Kenya, etc, give the movement a terrible name, no different than the "9/11 Truthers" did who protested the Iraq War.
4. Bring Water.
5. Dont bring your wife or GF. There may be some hotties there and you dont want to bring sand to the beach.
6. Network with other people. You never know who you will meet and may be a business contact or something like that.
7. Stay away from yentas. There are always going to be a few crazies who show up and they will eat your ear off if you let them. Stay away from those people.
8. Look for plants. There are definately going to be plants in the crowd who will try to bait you into saying stupid shit. Watch out for those.
9. Go a little early if parking may be an issue.
