I am betting that United Healthcare will be awarded the Public Option Contract from the government.  United has been primary for the DoD and for the Senate and the House as well as the Supreme Court for quite a long time.

It will be interesting to see which PRIVATE Insurance company or companies will be rewarded with the contract.

If the Public Option passes, and you invest in whichever Private Insurance Company that gets the contract, you will be looking at a sizable return and a solid investment.

Many people " insiders" will get rich on this.
Same as Cap and Trade.
My bet will be on whom ever donated the most to Obama.
Sometimes its nice to work in Washington.

Do you think that this will ease some fears of "The Public Option" when they learn that it is just a Government contract awarded to the Private Industry?

Wow,you really are silly. If the government rewards a "private" industry of this,do you really think the government wont be controlling it?Come on.Who is controlling GM?Chrysler?Who dictates what wall street execs make?Once the government is in THEY run shit.

Now,how do you feel about a provision in the bill which allows the government to come into your house and dictate how you should raise your kids.Chuck Norris[yes the karate guy]pointed this out as the stupid media cant read and the dems REFUSE to read the bill. What right does the filthy government have to tell ANY American how they raise their kids?

I can assure you the Government did not control United Healthcare I worked there and we had their DoD, Senate and House contracts.

I can also assure you that the Government does not control Boeing, Raytheon, Northrop Grumman, Alliant Tech.

The government has been using United Healthcare for years.  When I worked there, WE DICTATED what, how and who we would cover to Federal and State employees.

Really?I wasnt awatre that we had a forced public option. You are missing the whole point of "health care reform".Its a code word for "total controll of everything".The government wants to decide who lives, who dies, what you can eat, what you can weigh, how much money CEOs can make, what cars you drive, how much electricity you use.

Each proposal is another step in that direction.Once they get health care passed, they will dictate what the insurance is,who gets it,who gets the care, the operation.United health care,if they are used, will jump when the government says jump.Again, just look at GM,CHRYSLER,etc.

You have it backwards Billy.  United Healthcare has been providing healthcare to Federal and State employees for years.  United Healthcare was awarded the contracts for the Dod, the House and the Senate and many other areas of Government for years.

Now if the Public Option passes, this is just another Government contract to be awarded to a Private Company.  The Private Company in the end, will have the say what goes in the policy.  It will be the exact same policy Federal employees already have. Nothing more, Nothing less.  If you do not like your current provider and like the Public Option, which is a Private Insurance company, you will still have to pay for it as you would any other plan.

There is nothing spooky about it. The Private Industry will dictate the final policy as is has for all Federal Contracts.  There may be a few sweeteners that will make it cheaper for you to buy, but thats about it.

Nobody is going to force you into anything.  Its merely a Private Plan that has been awarded a Government contract.

I know you understand this.  Relax your ill-gotten fears.

TA ur making a complicated arguement a little to simple. UH can and will make alot of calls as to how they administer the program but the DOD has pushback on alot of areas. This all works when such issues arise with a less then 1% of the population. The DOD and UH always work something out...but with all the people who will be part of this...they're fucked.

By the way, here is PROOF Im telling the truth and your god is a liar!!This cut and pasted.

Dirty secret No. 1 in Obamacare is about the government’s coming into homes and usurping parental rights over child care and development.

It’s outlined in sections 440 and 1904 of the House bill (Page 838), under the heading “home visitation programs for families with young children and families expecting children.” The programs (provided via grants to states) would educate parents on child behavior and parenting skills.

The bill says that the government agents, “well-trained and competent staff,” would “provide parents with knowledge of age-appropriate child development in cognitive, language, social, emotional, and motor domains … modeling, consulting, and coaching on parenting practices,” and “skills to interact with their child to enhance age-appropriate development.”

ANYTHING TO SAY JERKOFF?

I read the whole section and you are dead wrong.  Nowhere does it say that those home visits are solely for child abuse.

I read the whole section and you are dead wrong.  Nowhere does it say that those home visits are solely for child abuse.

First of all, in the very first passage it says the program is voluntary. Not mandatory.

Secondly, throughout the section it makes references to children who are malnourished, maltreated and families that are on public assistance.

Thirdly, the bill addresses the fact that many of these programs already exist.

So maybe  calling it "child abuse" was too glib, but reading through the section, it's obvious that the focus is at-risk homes.

And, it cannot be emphasized enough, it clearly say voluntary.

Every state already has CPS services.  Why do we need the Fed Gov involved in this now?

You read the entire section, so you do already know  that it's federal money for state programs, right?

And most of what's described seems to focus on physical and mental health related aspects that CPS might not cover?

And it's not like you ever hear about CPS being over-burdened financially or anything?

These are the kind of details that we need to be debating.  The gov refuses to discuss the details.

In my medical experience, anything the government has been involved with as it relates to medicine has been screwed up.  I just went to a Medical Review Officer certification course.  They focused mostly on federal drug screening.  The lawyer and doc who taught the course said how difficult the DOT and government committees make everything.  The said the process is very political and many decisions are made based on which party lobbies the hardest.  They were very frustrated with the system, that was clear to all who attended.  They also said their inside info was that some form of healthcare reform will pass this year, there is amazing pressure from the Obama administration and interested parties are lining up to get their seat at the table...just like lobbying in Washington.  I do not think this style of decision making is best for the people.

Its something everyone should hear anyway.  These are guys that directly deal with the Dept of Transportation and discuss details of medical drug testing policies...and how it relates to doctors, collectors, subjects and companies.  If people really understood how decisions are made in Washington, they'd probably feel much less comfortable with giving the government more power.

It's kind of difficult to discuss the details when you have astroturf organizations disrupting town hall meetings and shouting down speakers. You can't discuss the details when you're not permitted to even disseminate the general overview.
