you need programs that are designed to bring biases to ppls attention alot of ppl are biased without even knowing it.
You need programs that will educate ppl not force them and in turn cause resentment...again justifying racism/sexism with racism/sexism isnt the answer.

The advertisers did not leave FOX entirely. They simply allocated their dollars to other shows on the network. Essentially, these other shows will be subsidizing Beck's show. Sounds sort of *socialist* if you ask me. The irony!

What I'm wondering is, will Beck's show now be "Less commercials, more bawwing"?

I understand the concept of affirmative action and understand the perceived need.  However, it should be stopped for a host of reasons.  The country has changed and we have a lot of mixed race individuals. 

I hear what Tre is saying about religion being business...sort of, its not supposed to be but thats the way it works for some people (networking)...but being in that kind of church for 20 yrs is not excusable.  It means an exceptance of some degree of black liberation theology, which is an extreme position.  I think people attending other extreme religious services are odd too.  I think Obama is very smart and very ambitious.  I agree that he did everything he could to set up his senate seat and presidency.  I had a problem with our president being in Rev Wright's church.

Your right Tre and although I think its wrong to discriminate against one to promote another, I think there was a strong case to be made for AA at the time. 

However, I believe current AA practices do not address root cultural or family dysfunction (which is now a much greater issue than any institutional racism).  AA now fosters racism and race based anger.  Just as blacks were rightfully upset about discrimination practices, non-minority kids today shouldn't have to suffer because of bad things that happened in this nation's past.  Minorities don't have to carry the weight of thinking they were promoted because of race, not ability.  They won't be seen by others as having an unfair advantage in the workplace either.  We have to be forward thinking.  We have a very different nation than 50yrs ago, both in our thinking and in our makeup.  Pure caucasians are in decreasing #s every year.  There are more mixed race and minorities on every census.
