But Ben Johnson needed steroids to hit 9.79 so if Bolt is running 9.58 and the other 2 are close behind.................. .. ;D

Yeah but it would suck to lose by that much.  The pack just ran off and left poor Darvis.  He's probably in crisis about his future right now.

LOL. He was slow as shit. Ran a 10.34, which means that guys from the 1960s would have been flying by him too

About the drugs.... he's got to be on GH.  Maybe some minimal test

Does he use performance enhancing drugs? I suspect yes, but I think its stupid to say "all drugs" about an amazing achievement like that.

If anything, in Bolt's case, it would make more sense to say "all genetics".

Followed by "all genetics and hard training".

Bolt could probably have achieved under 10 seconds naturally.

And I think he may well get under 9.5. Amazing!

He doesn't take steroids.
He has been amazing people since he was a young teenager...contrary to popular belief, he didn't 'come from nowhere.'
I find it very sad that you can observe a feat so amazing and dismiss it, because of your preconceived ideas.  :(

Certainly an amazing athlete with great genetics for his sport, but

2 points - first I did not say he took steroids. That is your preconceived idea about my statement. What I said was that I suspect he took performance enhancing drugs. He has never tested positive for a steroid (although having said that, there are periods of time when he trains pretty much in isolation in his home country, away from any testers, so in the past quite possibly may have been using a fast acting steroid with a short detection span).

But quite a part from steriods, there a range of other non-steroid performance enhancing substances he may have used (HGH being just one such example). Also possibly new forms of hard to detect EPO-like substances (which are usually used by middle to long distance runners, but which sprinters are now also using, especially in off-season training).

Secondly - I did not dismiss the feat. What he has done is amazing (whether with our without drugs makes no difference to me). I felt the same about Ben Johnson. So what if he tested positive. His run at the 1988 Olympics was incredible, and his positive test result does not make me "dismiss that feat" either.

They should allow any sort of drugs, or genetic engineering, or anything at all like that

If it means we can see someone run 100 meters in 5 seconds, i don't care if they are half cyborg

It was stated in a article by Carl Lewis' former coach, that if you could imagine our basketball players in track, it's just the fact they chose to make much more money in another sport, kinda like the NFL vs. bodybuilding.

He doesn't take steroids.

you don't know that he doesn't...I believe he trains in the US...but the US athletes have the stigma of cheaters in the US media, who are very ignorant of the drug game, so i believe the US athetes are now probably  either off the sauce or are taking lower doses...but even I don't know, that is pure speculation on my part.

You're living in a dream world my friend. Of course he does its not even a question that should be debated, the thing is that people think because someone uses roids it makes them less of an athlete, so they get all defensive when trying to defend his achievements. So let me be clear.

This guy is the greatest track and field athlete that has ever lived, he lives in his own stratosphere, we may never see another like him.

So what if he takes gear, everyone else in the race was on it too so not like he had an unfair advantage. My wish is that people would just be honest about it.
