The IFBB reserves the right to drug test, so far, no test has been given in 2009

Thanks for answering, Bob. I hope the IFBB continues to win its war against drugs and that the majority of its athletes stay drug-free as Mr. Weider intended.  :P

They cant drug test ANY  pro show!!! Not one athlete would pass.Who is a natural pro???? There might be a dozen but they are all 130-140lb guys who turned pro at Nationals, yet have no use for the IFBB pro card.Even at The 202lb class the lightweights would get smashed, lol.The 202 lb weight class is 210lb guys who are totally depleted, and use diuretics, then carb back up to 210 lbs by the time they hit the stage. Why do you think David Henry was off at the NY Pro.He filled up to much and spilled over.
The 22lb class is actually more like 210lbs class, lol.Just like fighters, when they step in the ring they are always 10-12 lbs heavier.

Can you imagine the IFBB Drug testers (do they exsist?) turning up at a pro show.It would be a similar scene to that national show in Belgium the other month when they had to close it down because all the Bodybuilders ran like fuck out of the door.

The rush to get out from backstage from the O if the testers turned up would be like the start of the New York marathon.  :D

Why are you asking me?  I couldn't care less what they do in the IFBB amateur

WOW...couldn't care less - you say?

It is IFBB - you know...Our Federation...and all of us were at one point amateurs...so IF you could care less WTF are you still in position of the athletes rep?
These same people you could care less for right now - will sooner or later be professionals...Oh, I see...you could care less about status of the athlete - amateur or professional...you are just in position to do what you are told...

What a shame...

Ahhh..gotcha.

Yes, to all concerned...this is intended for AMATEUR BB, not the IFBB Pro League

Oh, yeah, like every competitor in the NPC isn't a juice-monkey.  ::)

Ben was either deluded or a bold-face liar.  My money is on the latter, since he'd have to be utterly stupid to not realize bodybuilding does not exist without gear.

That said, I'm going to go inject some test cyp.  :D

You'll never catch me in a thong...  I'm just smart enough to realize if you're over 30 and want a good physique without killing yourself, nature needs a little help.

Not at all.  I lift 4x/wk, and do my cardio, but beyond a certain age you won't get the same results without some amount of gear.

First, It's not "our" federation, as last I checked YOU werent a part of it...

We all were amateurs, but here in the USA, you're a part of the NPC, not the IFBB amateur as you were...so I'm sure you hold a special place in your heart for them, as I do the NPC....

Many of these athletes will NOT be professionals sooner, or later...thats just the way it goes

No, I dont care about their status...until they get to the pro league...thats when they fall under my jurisdiction and my efforts effect them directly.

The rest of your drivel is just that....useless drivel. Since you insist on trying to convince everyone that I simply do what I'm told...why dont you bring it up to Manion?...you know, the guy you claim to be replacing? The guy whos job you say youll be taking?

Thank goodness for honest IFBB officials like Bob Chick who strive and struggle to keep steroid users and cheaters out of the pro ranks.  :P

do you think its only 10-12? i know guys for powerlifting that drop almost 30, then go back up that and some. Dont know how this would transfer to bodybuilding though.

Powerlifters take out diuretics to piss out water? Why do they need that? I believe that 10-12 lbs is mostly water and fluids.

We all were amateurs, but here in the USA, you're a part of the NPC, not the IFBB amateur as you were...

throughout the world, athletes belong to their country's chapter of the IFBB.  The NPC is the USA's IFBB chapter.  By your logic, the IFBB has no individual amateur members.

BY my logic....if you compete in the amateurs here in the US...you're a mamber of the NPC, as the IFBB amateur doesn't put on amateur shows here (with the exception of the ASC amateur, in which the US athletes are STILL a part of the NPC, not IFBB amateur)

so the IFBB allows the use of steroids and other drugs in the IFBB Pro League?

The IFBB reserves the right to drug test, so far, no test has been given in 2009

The IFBB Pro rules are very clear concerning the use of banned substances and methods:

Rule 1 – Introduction

1.3 Code of Ethics:
The Code of Ethics, which forms an integral part of the Pro Rules, is a set of
beliefs that have been written to serve as guidelines for the way in which all
Members, be they Athletes, Judges or Officials, should strive to conduct
themselves as Members of the Pro League.

APPENDIX 1
CODE OF ETHICS

Athletes:
We, the Pro League Athletes, realizing that our conduct reflects on the good
name of the sport of bodybuilding, fitness and figure, and realizing the
responsibility thereby placed upon us, pledge ourselves:

15. To oppose the use of banned substances and methods.

Rule 3 – Athlete Participation Procedures

3.5 Conditions:
All competitors must agree to the following conditions and must accept that the
failure to abide by them may result in disciplinary action in accordance with the
Pro Rules:

4. To abide by the Pro Rules in the conduct of the competition.

Rule 6 – Medical

6.1 General:
The Pro League advocates a clean, healthy and fit lifestyle, with regular exercise
and proper nutrition. The Pro League encourages its members to engage in
health-promoting activities and not to engage in practices which may endanger
their health.

6.3 Medical Committee:
The Medical Committee has authority over medical issues, to include drug
testing matters. The committee will assist its Members with any questions they
may have regarding issues of a medical or drug testing nature. The Pro League
regularly provides relevant information on health, nutrition, training and doping
control.
  :D

Rule 8 – Drug Testing

8.1 Policy Statement:
Sport involves physical health and fitness, mental application and dedication to
training. Doping – the use of prohibited substances and/or prohibited methods –
to artificially enhance performance is unethical, contrary to the concept of fair
play, undermines the values of sport, and can endanger the health of the athletes.

Rule 9 – Discipline

9.1 General:
Athletes, Judges, and Officials join the Pro League of their own free will and, in
so doing, agree to abide by the Pro Rules.

9.10 Code of Ethics:
Disciplinary action may be taken against any Member who contravenes the Code
of Ethics, which forms an integral part of the Pro Rules. ( Notice the use of 'may be'  :D )
