The plot and storyline were fresh and original. Having a relatively no-name cast was a good move to. The CGI and special effects were stellar as well. Plus, I'm a huge sci-fi fan and huge fan of the word 'awesome'.

My opinion is pretty jaded because I love sci-fi movies.

I just thought the movie represented an original storyline and concept that hollywood hasn't seen in years.

Every movie just seems recycled or re-made(rebooted) this day and age.

Did anyone see the trailer for that other sci fi movie? Something about being 500 million miles from earth? It was kinda the typical ,"alien shit on a ship", but still looked kinda cool.

Bay as always with the over the top histrionics..awesome lol

District 9 was solid albeit predictable sci-fi fodder for the summer.

They tried giving it some uniqueness with the south african bent but who cares. It was fine on FX and action. Been there done that but it's good in a pinch.

District 10 looks likely..
