Congratulations to Color of Change for a boycott that has successfully driven 36 companies away from the odious and racist rantings of Glenn Beck!  Beck is returning from vacation to even fewer advertisers than when he left!

maybe I was wrong.  What people should do is contact the advertisers and point out that most of the rest of Fox has said the same thing and or at least argued the same points that enabled Beck to say what he said.

Well, mainstream media is failing to hold this administration accountable, its appauling.  Fox does a good job in their news shows.  I don't like how Beck rants and raves either.  I'd like to see some of the right wing commentators be more centrist.  Beck was better on CNN, now I don't listen to his show anymore.

While the advertising boycott has generated substantial media coverage, Fox News said it has not impacted the network’s revenues or Beck’s audience. "The advertisers referenced have all moved their spots from Beck to other programs on the network so there has been no revenue lost," a spokeswoman said.

Since his Fox News show launched in January, Beck has attracted a sizable audience with his strident denunciations of the Obama administration and apocalyptic warnings about the country’s direction. Late last month, during an appearance on the morning show “Fox & Friends,” he accused Obama of having “a deep-seated hatred for white people or the white culture.”

“This guy is, I believe, a racist,” he added.
The flap that ensued did not appear to dampen Beck’s viewership. This month, his show has averaged 2.25 million viewers, 99% more than tuned in during the same period last year, when the network aired “America’s Election HQ” during the time period. And his ratings are up from July, when Beck's program averaged 2.05 million viewers. Fan websites such as Defend Glenn have called for viewers to fight back against the advertising boycott, and some media veterans have denounced the tactic as a suppression of free speech.

Beck is essentially aying that Obama hates himself..Obama is half white....why would he hate whites?..ridiculous...

Nah, I don't believe Beck is racist at all.  He was slobbering over some of his black guests who were more conservative.  He is a limited government fan and thats the opposite of whats going on with this administration.

As far as mainstream goes, more than 50% of the country are against the programs Pelosi and Obama are trying to get through.  Obama picks up a few more pts (approval rating is approx 54%) because people like him.  The more he is associated with leftist agendas, the more his approval rating will drop.  I'd guess that no more than 1/3 of the people in the country are true left winged democrats.

FOX = by far, the biggest chunk of the mainstream media.

And you're right.  They're hardly objective in their coverage of obama.  And the smaller parts of the mainstream media, like cnn and msnbc, are biased in the other direction. 

Headline news is what you want for completely unbiased news coverage with zero commentary.  "These are the facts.  An attack on XYZ today.  ABC said this.  DEF said this.  End story".

All this attention is going to push Fox's Q3 rating books through the roof.  Look for a year high spend by major advertisers on the network as a whole for Q4.  While Beck might lose sponsors, all this secondary attention has people watching in droves....and those ratings will drive sales next quarter.

Stern proved that no pub is bad pub.  Sure, Beck will take a hit, but next q when no one gives a shit about this anymore, Fox will have a monster book to show to potential buyers.

Most large companies have agencies that buy by numbers.  Ex: GRP's, Cume - etc.  When all this bullshit fades, they will go back to buying by the numbers.  The only reason the sponsors are pulling back is do to the public outcry.  Shit, I bet half the CEO's of companies like UPS didn't even knew they were on Fox before this fiasco took off and they started getting letters.
