The Age Question

So heres my inquiry.  As the board knows, I am in my 40's thus being older on here.  And its no secret that I am somewhat nuts.  Now if someone makes a smart ass remark to me, or whatever along that lines. why if I want to smash their head in do people go "You are to old for that behavior".  I am old school and believe in standing up for myself, no cops, no 4 on 1, just straight up scraps.   Because society says so tis wrong?  Am I also supposed to be married with a house and 2 kids because society says so? I have never understood this whole you should or shouldnt due to age.  Im not trying to be a dick or start anything here, I am genuinely trying to debate this issue

It's natural for anyone with a degree of intelligence or self-awareness to ask the question, but beyond that it's just a matter of continuing to do ya own thang at any age, period. There's a segment out there who gets this, if opinions matter. Age and experience further enlightens some.

In your 40's you should know this...Takes more effort to get angry over a smart remark, than to come back with another one. I think you take the remarks personally because of your past, viewing yourself as victim getting back at previous people who have wronged you.

as for the settling thing, there's a lot of folks that break the mold. A strong Judeo-christian history that places strong emphasis on marriage and kids does not really help people appreciate diversity and other ways of living.
