Brief description?

presuppose that aliens arrived on earth, but all the scientific marvels and progress we would expect of such an encounter never happened................ .instead they are grouped together in shantytowns, sick, poor, hungry, unable to deal with the idiosyncrasies of earth culture........and the situation deteriorated from there.

the movie focuses on a man, who is basically a bureaucrat tasked with the "alien problem".......but where, by a twist of fate........this man soon finds himself knowing how the other half lives.

Saw it yesterday.

I was expecting a bit more but it was an interesting change from the cookie cutter movies out there today.

Gotta check out Inglorious bastards at some point

IMO better than Transformers 2. Awesome script and the characters and effects were very believable. Smart move making Peter Jackson producer instead of someone like Bryan Singer or McG.

It was alright. Interesting concept and I did like it but honestly it just wasn't all that exciting. All the accents and low budget actors kind of annoyed me more than anything. Lacked attractive women. Was pretty realistic. Oddly enough I would watch it again though I do not know why. Inglorious basterds was a shitty movie but more entertaining. Would watch again as well.

District 9 was solid albeit predictable sci-fi fodder for the summer. Not compelling but ok.

They tried giving it some uniqueness with the south african analogies but who cares. It was fine on FX and action. Been there done that but it's good in a pinch.

District 10 looks likely.. :P

some shallow movie goers in this thread

Independance Day? Transformers 2?

those "films" are nothing against District 9
