Moon rock drama

A treasured piece at the Dutch national museum - a supposed moon rock from the first manned lunar landing - is nothing more than petrified wood, curators say.

It was given to former Prime Minister Willem Drees during a goodwill tour by the three Apollo-11 astronauts shortly after their moon mission in 1969.

When Mr Drees died, the rock went on display at the Amsterdam museum.


The US agency gave moon rocks to more than 100 countries following lunar missions in the 1970s.

US officials said they had no explanation for the Dutch discovery.

Who knows.

But if a few other countries begin testing their rocks, and they all got some silly petrified wood, it certainly will reflect poorly on NASA.  Why lie?

Maybe because they never had any moon rock in the first place?? 100 pieces of rock is a lot to haul down to earth with their flimsy craft - judging by the photos.

Anyone see the video debunking the waiving flag?



Why does the flag not drop over a period of 45 minutes? There is still gravity on the moon - 1/6th of the earth. I find it strange that it would stay frozen as shown in the video.

Yeah saw it on mythbusters.  They are involved on the conspiracy too.  Did you know that the producers of that show no longer work in TV?  They retired.

there was a pole going through the top of the flag if im not mistaken that would explain why it never dropped
