People over 65 who haven't worked a day in their lives - still get free health care.

The seniors realise that if Obama care passes its THEY who get the short end of the stick.Obama talks about saving money. How will he do it?The people who get sick are the elderly. They see the writing on the wall. They know they will be denied care.If you look at the people in the administration, its obvious what they have planned for the elderly.Obama has even sai that perhaps giving a pain pill is better then an operation that could extend the life for only a couple of years.

Maybe it's free to that small percentage that never worked, but I can see it taken out of check every week. And just for the record no I don't agree with this government run bullshit, but once the government implements something it's never going away.

I am against socialism.  Lose the free health care for EVERYONE - including over 65.

You seem to be okay with "just a little bit" of it.  Hey, that's cool.

Agreed.

Of course, a lot of seniors will be dying on the streets.  They'll blame obama for taking away the healthcare they "deserve".

This distorts what is reality. Currently, when an individual turns 65, Medicare rules prohibit private insurance paying for care that is covered under Medicare parts A & B, regardless of whether or not the individual chooses to sign up for Medicare. Don't believe it, call Medicare. I found it to be unbelievable as well when I heard it from my insurance company. Medicare confirmed it. So, to keep full coverage I have to keep my private insurance policy (of course no discount in rate) and sign up for Medicare and pay an additional premium for Medicare Part B.

Old people had $$$ taken out of their pay all those years.  Give them them their money back if you want them to sign this.

Why don't you post some numbers. How many people have never worked a day in their lives and are no receiving those benefits? Let's see some facts, please.

here we go again..

240,  people have to pay into medicare for at least 10 years, in order to get medicare.

Many people who don't qualify are charged for it., some as much as $ 700 a month for medicare A & B

People over the age of 65, who have not earned it, have to be under poverty level and own less than 25,000 in total asserts to qualify for it.

You want to make cuts in medicare, in order to give Free health care to Illegals then give the seniors some of their money back.

Actually I'm anti-universal healthcare.   I think nobody should have it.  I think health care should be piecemeal like getting your car fixed.  if you have the money, you get fixed.  if you don't,

Competition would keep the prices down.  The fact we have giant companies means they all run up the price.

If you don't have money, when you get sick, you get all the morphine you can eat, govt provided! :)

As one of our highly intelligent right-wing town hall senior citizens shouted:
"Tell the government to keep its hands off my medicare!"
 ::) ;D

If you gave seniors the option of getting their money back that they paid into medicare during their working years in exchange for having to buy health insurance from the private sector, no one would follow through with that and you right wing loonies know it. They would be paying out the ass so much for their high blood pressure and cholesterol medication and doctors visits that they'd go through that money in no time. Being over 65 is not looked upon kindly by the insurance company dominated health care system this country currently has, so premiums would be ridiculously high. So this is just a bullshit red herring not even worth seriously discussing. I certainly haven't seen GOP seniors shouting at town halls to give them the money back that they paid into Social Security and Medicare in exchange for dropping out of those programs.  ::)

Bottom line, if all gov't run programs are "evil socialism," a senior should have no problem signing the above petition.
