Wake up USA! The civil liberties on the net are threatened!
« on: September 03, 2009, 03:32:45 PM »
A few people like James et al are constantly starting ridicilous threads about bullshit and constantly spamming this board with their anti-Obama rhetorics.

That prevents serious discussions about serious problems with the Democratic Majority.

Like the current suggestion from Sen. Rockefeller, a democrat.

His "bright" idea is to give the president temporary supreme power over the internet, if a situation occurs.

That's one step closer to dictatorship! >:(

Why not stop the lame ass threads about how Obama is shit because he wants to raise tax.

Or was it because he's too irresponsible so he's giving tax cuts?  ::)

There are plenty of real issues that are troubling with the current president.

Why not focus on them instead of bullshit threads about whether a commercial for Obama is lame or not.

Once again: Don't cry wolf unless you have to! >:(

I already posted that thread last week.

Some on this board dismissed it like all the others because they dont want to believe what is actually going on.

Hedge, I disagree with you BTW that people are starting worthless threads about Obama.

All of what is going is part of a bigger picture, not only the internet takeover.  Just look who Obama picked as his internet and media person Cass Sunstein.

He advocates govt takeover of all media and praised Hugo Chavez in what he did.

My point is that a guy like "James" starts several threads a day.

All of them hateful towards Obama. There's just no sense in them.

If it ain't that Obama is a commie, a Marxist or a Socialist - it's that Obama has abandoned the left wing of the Democratic party and now all of a sudden that is a bad thing? ???

I'm like "WTF?"

And it's always, always, always... COPY AND PASTE.

Never a thought of his own. How very fucking interesting. ::)

Mindless drone - ring a bell?

All those worthless threads steal the focus from really dangerous issues like the power grab of the Internet.

I saw your thread BTW.

Good thought to start it. But your facts was messed up.

It's not Obama who's behind this legislation. It's Rockefeller.

although, I fear that may not oppose it. That would mean we're increasingly shafted.

Hedge - do you think Rockefeller would have given GWB the same power?

The Dems have had the Senate for three years now and easily could have given GWB that same power under the same premise if they wanted to.

Also, Hedge, look up this guy Sunstein is an appointed CZAR who is in favor of all sorts of curbs on internet freedom.

This is getting scary bro and none of this is accident.

Worst part is - now the Brits are getting in line.

The planned new Internet law was deemed to lenient, so now file sharers may be banned, private information can be extracted from Internet service companies, et al.

Even the music stars are starting to speak up - AGAINST this horror of a law.

Damon Albarn, Elton John and Paul McCarthney are some who've said enough is enough.

They are standup citizens and I will definitely pay the next time I consider any of these artists music. ;D

Way to go 240.  You managed to derail yet another thread.   ::)

Here's how I see it.

Obama is unbeatable.

But the election after he's out, there is a good chance for the Republicans if they can find a good candidate.

But Obama has that kind of super star appeal, like JFK (a pretty terrible president) or Bill Clinton (a pretty good president).

If the health care reform fails, Obama won't get the blame. It will be on the Republicans, like it or not.

This is not saying ANYTHING about whether Obama is a good president or not.

But it's a bit Bob Dole factor on the upcoming Rep president candidate.

He or she will be crippled or considered very dull in comparison to Obama.

I hope that there will be more investigation into how the banks and the media companies are tied, or perhaps a better word, are lobbying the president and the Democrats to increase their wealth at the cost of the common man.

Just look into GE & Goldman Sachs and there is a good start.

We need to ban together in any plan of internet takeover.  Both the republicans and democrats have tried to limit our personal freedoms more in the past few years.  We must elect officials that believe in the constitution and in limited but necessary government.  I don't want people like Obama or Cheney running our country.
Despite my disagreements with the last administration, it seems like the Obama administration is treating the public like children who need to be directed and taught.  That may be necessary in low educated areas but not with the rest of America.
