I think young earth creationists believe the earth is more like 6000 years old, not 5000.

It should be pointed out that the text in Genesis isn't specific in the age of the earth, but seems to be more specific in the age of life.....and that seems to be around 6000 years old.

Didn't God create the earth in 7 days? And isn't a day for God like a 1000 years? So shouldn't we be 13,000 years old?

Actually I think the age of life (from the bible) is determined through recorded generations of people since Adam.

What's cool about this is that if God created the earth and the universe in 6000 years he created as if it was a snap shot of a planet that is millions of years old based on our current science. Or our science is just so dam wrong.

Would a God create a planet that appeared to be brand new and could only support the simplest of life? Perhaps he would create a world with the appearance of age, one that could support human life.

The big bang created all of this???

hmmmm, well you probably couldnt run it based on birthers but you could definately run it based on creationists. But you certainly cant run it based on either truthers or socialists. All human beings have some type of irrationality. The question is where that irrationality is placed and what effect it has on other people. The irrationality of socialism and communism is far more dangerous thant the irrationality of creationism.
