That was Collier county.  now Lee county is doing it too.

I thought they had the science to prove that white roofs deliver X amount of protection in helping to eliminate temperature rise?  If it works, why not?

lol... yeah, good point.  Wear black t-shirt into the sun in FL is insane.  White feels way better.

If dumping a few thousand tons of white paint in uninhabited areas would lower planet's temperature, I'd be okay with that.  If i'd get a tax credit for painting my roof white (and it would make the planet healthier, why the hell not?

I frequent LA on occasion and there are areas around the airport that need lots of lighting.

Otherwise, I may pick up a really fucking skanky ho....

hi half of a halfwit :D  regions?  hello?  regions?  hello?

I'm fucking with you but you get my point, don't kill me bro :D

I imagine if you live in Texas it might be a smarter deal than living in North Dakota....  leave it black in ND...  Still a net savings.

According to the guy who wanted it[I forget his name]he wanted it nation wide, which led others to say what about the winter.

Id prefer to let the government worry about other things then telling me what color to paint my house.

So you want the government telling you what you can and cannot do with your house? I know if I had paid $500k for a home I sure as hell wouldn't want someone telling me what color I have to paint it. White on the streets seems like it would be dangerous for driving.

I agree, but it's a good idea, especially the way I said it.  it would benefit people in the south bigtime and save them money and at the same time hook up the environment by some fraction.  It's a win win, why not?

No, i'm saying that if we know painting the roof white will help X amount, and the govt offers people a choice of not doing it, or reeiving $Z to paint the house, I'm okay with that.

make it voluntary.  I know a lot of people who would paint their house pink for $2k right now.

besides - it doesn't have to be white.  There is a special paint that look clear that will reflect light the same, and your roof will look the same.
