A force of 5(N) accelerates a carriage of 15kg. What is the speed after three seconds knowing that it was initially stopped?

that's not math.  that's physiques

F = ma

all your units are already correct so you don't have to convert anything

5 = 15a

so

a = 5/15 or 1/3  or 0.333 m/s2

then

v = ta

v = 3 * 1/3 = 1 m/s

1 N gives a 1m/s^2 acceleration to a 1 kg object. So 5 Newtons would give 5N*(1m/s^2/15 kg)*3s = 1 m/s.  :D

the important thing is to always add an extra 2 inches to the formula when tape measuring!
