He might be, but I probably have a higher IQ than every rapper with a hit in the states, but I don't think I can rap better than any of them....haha

the ones you mentioned are GREAT...skillwise
ice cube,dre etc not so..still like them though
on the other hand i hate nas but he's a great rapper...can't identify with all that slave and niggah talk

Yeah Cube and Dre aren't going to win many freestyles....but they have a unique delivery that sets them apart.  I'm not a big Nas guy either.  And believe me, I can totally understand you not getting the over the top slave and afrocentric references...most non blacks, and many blacks too, here  in the states don't get it either.  Too many focus too much on it.

nah....your comparing 2 different era's not rappers....in there day public enemy,EPMD,Rakim,KRS 1,NWA,beastie boys were giants...they paved the way for cam,jada kiss,emenem,lil wayne and such....

that being said I love crime pays cam's new shit...and jada as well....but don't get it twisted they wouldn't be who they are or half as good of rappers without listening to the guys that came b 4 them...

Flav wasn't the primary rapper....that was Chuck D, who was very good.....flav was comedic relief.

only one syllable rhymes...today guys like jr writer use 5-6 syllables...major improvement

All depends.....older rap had more rock hooks and better sampling in the music....it was more about the hooks.  Newer rap is too synthesized.  Half the fun of old school was trying to figure out where the hook came from.

rakim was way ahead of his time

and as far as jay z...worst most annoying voice in rap..I cant make it threw a whole album of his just because of the voice.
