are you saying juice is immoral? :D

Not all all, especially then...point was, to illustrate that it's absurd to think that these guys had access, but decided to only take "2 dbol" a day...as if guided by some conscience or higher authority....

They took everything under the sun, and only didnt take what they have today becuase it wasnt invented yet

I went to a gym seminar in 1980, held right after Arnolds Olympia robbery, featuring drug doctor Michael Walczak, MD

He intimated that Arnold and Franco were the first to use HGH
supplied by him

note arnold's gap in front teeth, ala Haney et al

Zane didn't exactly look like a megadoser, so if he did, he didn't respond well?
and the new inventions wouldn't have helped him if he did it today?

LOL...well im sure all the other competitors really appreciated Frank holding back

X2...also it's funny people assume that if Zane was on a modern drug regimen he wouldn't be sporting a gut just like a lot of guys. Is he special?

Bah! Fools...even today Zane would own the shapless lumps of oil that currently populate an IFBB stage!

Im sure if Doom were reading this ...he would dissaprove.

Trust me, they had access to plenty....all real, and a time when no one gave a shit.  Zane was never one of the bigger guys, and wouldnt have been with todays stuff.  There is a reason he was nicknamed the Chemist

Great pt, Zane beat the pack that was the stage in the late 70's.
What made Zane specal was his unique look at the lighter body wt compared to other pros at that time.
The sad reality is that the sport of BB had a lot less drug problems when NOBODY cared about "it" as a problem.
Despite what some may think, as you know BOB, my "issue " with drugs has always been the LEGAL and PR issues of steroid use. In my book, the only sensible thing to do, is make personal steroid use LEGAL and make it a NON issue that is just one part of hardcore BB and /or contests.

You don't know this!

Actually, I do, as I've talked with many of the superstars of that era...as well as being close friends with a few.

Well, since none of us were "there"....I guess we'll ahve to rely on COMMON SENSE...which dictates that no one "back in the day", with full access to legit gear, no black market to speak of, and the drive to WIN bb shows, was content to sit back, take 2 dbol and let the chips fall where they may...

How niave can you be, seriously?

Bob this one can give you some heat also, but from your statement I believe you agree with us that Lee Priest is full of shit with his "200mg of deca a week and a 1 cc of primo once in a while" dosage claim ?

Lots of reasons....better equipment, better drugs, most guys are training YEARS longer to achieve the pro level, better diets, advancements in supps, knowledge...

Same reason the NFL players are bigger. faster and stronger than those in the 70's..and every other sport

Zane would do well in today's 202 lb division.  He is not outmassed by guys like Flex Lewis and Stan McQuay who just won 202 lb shows, and his shape and condition would be second to none.

Frank would appear too tall with not enough mass.

He would come in just as cut though, if not more.

Everyone lies about the drugs. You, Zane, Draper, Tom Prince, Priest, Ron Harris, Kyomu, musclecenter. :D Doesn't matter who it is, if it's a bb it's a liar.
