Kamali's 5 truths about BB
« on: September 16, 2009, 10:07:18 AM »
This month's issue of Musclemag International King Kamali dishes out the truth on pro bodybuilding top 5 myths. In summary:

Myth 1: Synthol is widely abused in pro bodybuilding

Fact: "Wrong! Synthol was popular when it first hit the scene a few years ago but use died off quickly due to the lumpy and distorted look it gives. Nowadays, if a competitor has an outstanding bodypart, the jackass haters automatically assume it must be synthol when more often than not, it's the result of site injections from water-based steroids or (this idea may sound far-fetched to some of you morons) just plain hard work."

Myth 2: Pro bodybuilders train harder than everyone else

Fact: "Most pros train with lighter weights and less intensity than amateurs." He says most pros don't train heavy because they don't want to risk joint injuries (let's Ronnie doesn't read that article and starting training light). Kamali said the average pro is in fact "lazy" and prefers to rely on his superior genetics.

Myth 3: Growth Hormone is responsible for the distended stomach look

Fact: "Wrong again, jerkies! GH is primarily used a fat burner that helps maintain lean body mass." He says that INSULIN is the cause of distended stomachs, because pros have to eat a lot of carbs to offset their higher than normal insulin production. "This constant pounding of carbohydrates and intercellular fat storage cause the distended look".

Myth 4: The Weiders are so powerful and corrupt that they often fix contests.

Fact: "Joe, Ben, and Eric Weider have no more influence over the outcome of bodybuilding competitions than does my own grandmother. There has never been an incident in which the Weiders have stepped in and fixed the results of a contest."

Myth 5: Drugs are the difference between the wannabes and the top dogs of the IFBB

Fact: "Sorry to disappoing you slapnut haters out there, but bodybuilding success all comes down to genetics....There are amateurs out there who take insane amount of drugs (almost twice what the average pro takes) every day and still have not achieved even a local contest win. Anyone can diet hard, train, and step on stage as a competitive bb'er, but you need superior genetics to make it to the next level. Bodybuilding should be fun and a healthful lifestyle, not a financial burden that will put you in the poorhouse or have you posing for some gay businessman. Don't let obsession and drugs take over your life. You could end up a bald, acne scarred, disgruntles ******* with a short fuse and a dick that doesn't work. Not a good way to go through life."

This month's issue of Musclemag International King Kamali dishes out typical "trying to be honest" but still spewing bullshit from a pro bodybuilder who is trying to make his genetics look more impressive than they are:

Myth 1: Synthol is widely abused in pro bodybuilding

Fact: "Wrong! Synthol was popular when it first hit the scene a few years ago but use died off quickly due to the lumpy and distorted look it gives. Nowadays, if a competitor has an outstanding bodypart, the jackass haters automatically assume it must be synthol when more often than not, it's the result of site injections from water-based steroids or (this idea may sound far-fetched to some of you morons) just plain hard work in combination with PROPER USE and not EXCESSIVE USE of synthol."

Myth 2: Pro bodybuilders train harder than everyone else

Fact: "Most pros train with lighter weights and less intensity than amateurs." He says most pros don't train heavy because they don't want to risk joint injuries (let's Ronnie doesn't read that article and starting training light). Kamali said the average pro is in fact "lazy" and prefers to rely on his superior genetics drugs.

There has never been an incident in which the Weiders have stepped in and fixed the results of a contest since the 70's."

Myth 5: Drugs are the difference between the wannabes and the top dogs of the IFBB

Fact: "Sorry to disappoing you slapnut haters out there, but bodybuilding success all comes down to genetics....There are amateurs out there who take insane amount of drugs (almost twice what the average pro takes) every day and still have not achieved even a local contest win because they haven't been on the high dosages long enough and consistently enough to have pro size yet. Anyone can diet hard, train, and step on stage as a competitive bb'er, but you need superior genetics to be on atleast 9 months a year for years to make it to the next level, and stop fucking around with 10-12 week cycles. Not a good way to go through life."

that interview is very old from 2001, back when king had a ton of hype and was an ifbb golden boy.  be interesting to see what he answers to those same questions now.

I dont see how contests are fixed
The only time where the result has been wrong was at the 2007 where Vic didnt win against Cutler.

Even in 97 Dorian was still in better condition than Nasshole

Maybe? Who knows when it comes to mags on actual ghost writting.
I did hear him say the same basic stuff at a couple seminars in recent years.
It sounds like him based on what I know of him and pretty good, basic info.
Granted he may be right that some pros are lazy but NOT the best of the best.
Look at how Ronnie and Jay train.

True. I mean, after all, it's not like Joe ever came onstage and switched Arnold and Sergio for no apparent rea--

Why even bring up Kamali's name? It is like bringing up Nasser's name. Both are completely insignificant in BB today.

kamali has probably used some synthol at some point

he is a washed up pro

never did anything but rattle his chops

ego training like crazy

never learned to train with more moderate poundage and get more into feeling what the exercise does for the muscles

he blows up to 300 pounds when he should try to stay a little lighter(more of his ego at work)

the guy talks smack and NEVER looks good on stage

totally jealous of the current crop placing ahead of him

the guy will never prove to be a top pro

plain and simple.....he is overrated!

kamali has probably used some synthol at some point

Probably? One look at his shoulders, and arms especially in the last contest or two, you can see it's obvious.

he is a washed up pro

No argument there!

never did anything but rattle his chops

Again, you're not lying! All talk, no walk!

ego training like crazy

What do you mean? Smith Squats having one more plate than spotters is all squeezing the muscle!

never learned to train with more moderate poundage and get more into feeling what the exercise does for the muscles

He learned to feel the weight, being too heavy even, on his limbs.

he blows up to 300 pounds when he should try to stay a little lighter(more of his ego at work)

Yet he continually talks about staying smaller in recent times, and turns around to talk about constantly "growing like a weed" yet never shows improvement on the contest stage.

the guy talks smack and NEVER looks good on stage

Truth is brought again!

totally jealous of the current crop placing ahead of him

What about "his crop" and the crop before him too?! ;D

the guy will never prove to be a top pro

It's been 8 years since his debut and that was his best showing. If it ain't happened, it's not going to now!

plain and simple.....he is overrated!

Always has been, always will be. For that matter, always has been a has been, and a never will be anything either!

This month's issue of Musclemag International King Kamali dishes out the truth on pro bodybuilding top 5 myths. In summary:

Myth 1: Synthol is widely abused in pro bodybuilding

It isn't even discussed that often.  Not a 'top myth'.

Quote
Myth 2: Pro bodybuilders train harder than everyone else

That's not a 'common myth', either.  Bodybuilders are bodybuilders, regardless of whether they're pro or amateur.

Quote
Myth 3: Growth Hormone is responsible for the distended stomach look

Another fail.

Quote
Myth 5: Drugs are the difference between the wannabes and the top dogs of the IFBB

Fact: "Sorry to disappoing you slapnut haters out there, but bodybuilding success all comes down to genetics....[/quote]

Yeah, he's right there.

One of out 5 ain't bad for a meathead.

Nasser has concurred this in discussions with me long time ago, however there are other powers at be (not the Weiders) who do influence contest results (Demilia for example).

As much as I hate the king, I believe he is correct, with the exception of #3.

GH gut might be genetic and dose dependent upon GH and insulin, IMO.
