No wonder she didn't want reporters there.

She flies to China to bash America on Foreign soil.

Obama took MAJOR heat when he bashed American policy on foreign soil, rightfully so.  Will the same critics be tough on Palin for her actions?

Former US vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin said the US government was wasting taxpayers' money and could aggravate poverty, said delegates at her first speech outside North America on Wednesday.

Palin, the former governor of Alaska, gave hundreds of financial big-hitters at the CLSA Investors' Forum in Hong Kong a wide-ranging speech that covered Alaska, international terrorism, US economic policy and trade with China.

Her performance, which was closed to the media, divided opinion.

Some of those who attended praised her forthright views on government social and economic intervention and others walked out early in disgust.

"She was brilliant," said a European delegate, on condition of anonymity.

"She said America was spending a lot of money and it was a temporary solution. Normal people are having to pay more and more but things don't get better. The rich will leave the country and the poor will get poorer."

Two US delegates left early, with one saying "it was awful, we couldn't stand it any longer". He declined to be identified.

"CLSA, an arm of French bank Credit Agricole, said it closed Palin's session to the media after she indicated that she would have to adjust her speech if reporters were present"

u have to wonder...

By undermining our economic policy in front of so many foreign investers... she's really helping to weaken the dollar, isn't she?  I guess she looks better for 2012 if Obama's economic policy fails. But she's partially helping it to fail.

She could have extolled American values and ingeniuity, and told the world that despite the tough times, America will come thru shining.

instead, it's this almost apologist speech.  She's telling the world that we're worthless economically.  And she's doing it on chinese soil?   Undermine our recovery by instigating doubt with our trading partners
Go to foreign soil and bash our country as it tries to get back on its feet.

I dunno... if Obama lost the election, and went to China (paid by a french bank) to tell the world's investors that Mccain/Palin are cripping the dollar and enabling poverty, I think people would be pretty critical of that move..

Not in the slightest. She was giving a speech on planet earth, not the moon.  ::)

Be honest, what is it about what she said that you disagree with. Considering of course that everyone on the planet knows of Palin.

America doesn't apologize.  And American leaders don't go to chinese soil and shit on our policies, our dollar.

We're fighting for our collective national economic lives, and her speech undermines these efforts.

Her hubby admittedly spends almost a decade as a registered member of a separist party.  And she speaks for their events as governor.  Now she goes to China and undermines our recovery.

But hey, the EURO delegates loved her, even if the Americans left in disgust.

Is it acceptable for american leaders (and she is still one of the top GOP leaders) to bash policy in China?

If Obama had lost the election and went to china (after getting a payday from the french) to talk smack about Mccain's economic policy as we're in the midst of a depression...

You'd be okay with that, 33?  yes or no?

If McCain was doing what obama is doing, 10000% I would support that.

If McCain was actively proomitng marxist policies, amnesty for ilegals, cap & trade, etc, damn right I want people to call him out.

This picture fits you to a tee.

Okay.  You feel it's okay for American leaders to undermine our govt - on foreign soil - as long as you agree with their opinion.

Not me.  it was wrong for obama to go to berlin and bash bush's policy, and it was wrong for palin to go to china to bash obama's policy.

But I'm taking politics and emotion out of it.  I love my country more than I love any political party.

Hey man, we all have differing political opinions.  The fact that you feel it's acceptable for American leaders to visit the soil of China and make secret statements (no reporters!) that undermine our economy, our govt, and our position as a superpower...

Well, I'm not sure there is a lot more for us to chat about on this thread.  I feel it's NEVER acceptable to undermine American interests.  You admit it's okay - if you agree with the content of the speech.  We're different in that manner, nothing wrong with that man.

The only one undermining our economy is the person you have a cardboard cut-out of in your home.

I personally dont like it, but sometimes the truth needs to be told regardless.

BTW - everyone but you and few others see the disaster looming with obamanics.

I think Palin made a lot of great points.

However I think she should have stood on US soil and done it.

instead, she's paid low six-figures (from a french bank?) to speak to a bunch of foreign investors on Chinese soil, with cameras banned.

We don't know how much damage she could have done to economic recovery.

I love America.  I don't think she should ever be disgraced by our leaders taking money to stand on our enemy's turf and bash us.

Does everybody not know Palin ?

Are you expecting the planet to take her seriously ?

Are you living in a bubble ?

Seriously - this will have ZERO impact on anything. The woman is a joke.

She does in this case, have a reasonable point. Not that anyone will take it seriously.

240 - you dont get it.

Obama's enemy is our economy.  He hates capitilism.  He wants us to fail so that he can institute his marxist schemes while people are desperate for "change".

1.  Yet we should take serious Diversity Czars who tell whites they need to step down,

2.  We should take seriously a Global Warming Czar who in the 1970's said we were entering an Ice Age?

3.  We should take seriously a Chairman of the Federal Reserve who has gotten every single prediction wrong up till today?

4.  We should take seriously a President who has never had a job prior to this one and does not even grasp the most basic concepts of economics?

Look, I understand Palin is the butt of jokes, but lets call a spade a spade, there are jokers abound right now, not only Palin.  The biggest ones are in DC, not Alaska.

Is Sarah Palin a government official,an elected official,or is she a private citizen giving her views.Last time I checked, private citizens are allowed to say what they want.Olbermann went on television every night and bashed Bush, where was 240?Granted,no one watches Olbermann because hes a no talent liar, but he is a private citizen giving his opinion.Pretty odd that we now want to squash freedom of speech now that we have a socialist president.

Palin was 100% correct in her speech, just as she was on Dear Leaders' health care garbage, cap & trade schemes, and other reckless policies.

The left just cant bring themselves to the fact that a dunce like Palin actually grasps reality far more than the brilliant transformational harvard trained messiah.

240 is a funny fellow. When EX-PRESIDENT Jimmy Carter goes all over the world and knocks the US I dont read a peep from 240.Palin knocks the all mighty Obama and he is outraged. Now,I realise that Palin is a MUCH BIGGER player then the stumbling, bumbling, senile worst president in the history of the country.I also know most look at Carter much the same way they look at Biden, the old "THATS JUST JOE" in Carters case its "THATS JUST JIMMY" because both are so fucking stupid they have built in excuses for their stupidity. However, you might think 240 would have a bit more consistancy.

I think it's great that she speaks her mind. Although I'm not stupid to think she wrote that speech herself, rather it's part of a strategy of hers.

But it's nice to see that these days it's ok for US politicians to go abroad and voice other opinions than that of the sitting president.

A little different from Bush's first term.

I may not agree with Palin, but I'd rim her, to paraphrase Voltaire. 8)
