Jay is great, like Dorian
« on: September 26, 2009, 11:02:32 PM »
Jay is very similar to Dorian - not the most pleasing shape in every pose, but still a decent shape with too much muscle and conditioning for the others to handle. Jay's looks, size, blue collar work ethics plus his being a class act all make him the best candidate for the Mr Olympia title.

Jay may be boring to listen to and what not, but at least he is a stand up guy.  Dex hits his girl, vic is a felon, etc.  Nothing bad has ever come out about cutler.  Jay works his ass off in the gym, diets hisself to death etc.  Stand up guy.

Never liked Dorian's physique, and don't like Jay's either, but Jay deserved to win tonight - however 2-10 there was no consistency of assessment tonight.  2-10 made no sense.

It made sense to me

1, Jay Cutler - dry, conditioned and thick, with too much size and decent enough shape / taper

2, Branch Warren - same as above

3, Dexter Jackson - was at his near best and simply got beaten by two guys in better shape and a lot more muscle

4, Kai Greene - more size than Dex, but not as sharp as he has been. Plus, his shape lets him down in some of the poses

5, Phil Heath - wasn't as sharp as we've seen him and his lack of being bone dry worked against him in this tough line up

6, Victor Martinez - not conditioned enough, but could win it next year if he improves enough

Yes, he needs to bring them up big time. I don't think it will be impossible for him to do that, though.

On a side note, the lighting for the show was the best I've seen in a long time. I'd say it was as good as the 99 British Grand Prix, albeit in a different way.

They really nailed the stage lighting this time. Great job and should be used as a standard from now on.

jeez some people, dorian would have not even placed in the top 5 last night at his best. he could not touch cutler 06 or 09, not even close...

yates would have won - easily.

better conditioned.

no one has duplicated yates' hardness and dryness, not to metion he was 260 on stage.

not to mention dorian beat guys at their best that would have also won easily -nasser, flex, and kevin.

unbeliveable how bad the level of bodybuilding competitions in general went downhill since the 90s

Branch is like Yates as well not the prettiest physique but insane amounts of dense dry size .

You were a judge for the O wasnt you kiwiol along with mars? Come on we know you were. I thought a well judged show. Jay was the definate winner he brought his shit together this year I dont like his structure the waist is too wide, gotta hand it to him though. I thought Kai 2nd, Branch 3rd, dex 4th all in mars and kiwiol did a good job. ;D
