Phil was very nice to my friends and I when I met him at the 2007 Mr. Olympia.  It is quite obvious when you talk to him that he is part white.  ;D  But seriously, he is a super nice guy.  Down to earth and in my opinion, very smart for a bodybuilder.

that is because it was 2007, before he was cocky...his head has blown out of proportion the last couple years

I'm not trying to be racist here, but what it is about black culture that makes it cool to get your entire paycheck out of the bank in cash and then take a photo bragging about it?

Haa, i get you...(BTW, never nick the big vein near the base, you'll bleed like a pig)
So basically, he doesn't have the Ronnie Coleman...When you met a Prime Ronnie--it was Ohh Shit, look at that mofo.

Tis, what happens when you blow up real quick.

Hopefully this has been a humbling experience for him, and he'll come back to post on Getbig, and come back in 2010 for the win.

It was a sight to see a prime Ronnie, I'll never forget that, after seeing him at the gym for about a month prepping in 03 no bodybuilder looks big anymore. Ronnie had that "it," factor that has to be seen in person. Probably never be seen again, atleast, for a VERY long time.

Hulkster would have creamed in his pants if he saw Ronnie during those times.

Phil is fine. I've met him. You can't judge a guy one time you see or meet him.

The only pro I've met on separate occasions and was a dick each time is Levrone.

after this weekend i cannot fucking stand him...at first i liked phil, but his cocky attitude fucked it up

The cocky attutide is apparant on a myriad of bodybuilders. It is a good persona, to hype the sport.  Right after the press conference, I sat with Phil backstage and talked about various subjects.  The man is smart, intelligent and very businesslike.  In a few years, we are looking at a new Mr. Olympia, when he reaches his mid 30s.

As i got closer i saw that it was phil heath, i was on my way to approach him to say hey, and as i get closer i notice that he has this total "asshole aura" about him and that he was totally unapproachable.

So you saw him from far, and right away thought he was an unapproachable guy and an ass. WTF is wrong with you? If you did say hello to him, you would find out and have a different feeling about him.  I am always amazed when people judge you by how you look, or the way you walk.  Too funny, but considering you went to the Olympia, why not say hello.

Yeah ... ok... His wife and her friends were there, and Phil always treats all of them with respect.

Picture was for a photo, having fun. That is not his enitre paycheck, it is maybe 1/20th of his paycheck that week.  Hey, you are in Vegas, I know people with a lot more cash than that showing it off. They just spend it all at the strip clubs.

Agreed.
You didn't even talk to him, yet you still come to the conclusion he is an asshole. You even said it yourself "He looked like he competed the night before." Whether it was Friday or Saturday, I'm sure Phil had his mind on other things...on Friday it was probably not dying...Saturday he was probably just pissed that he placed 5th, and a year of hype was down the drain, disappointing himself and everyone else. Food poisoning or otherwise, he blew it.
All you had to do was actually go up to him and say "Hey, you're Phil Heath!" and he probably wouldn't have given you the same impression. But now you look like the asshole because you did not approach him, but "have him all figured out" without so much as speaking a single word to him.

Not sure how me pissed you off...but MOST competitiors are not at their friendliest when showtime is near.    I was never a Phil fan   but I can understand if he ignored you or God knows what...not all IFBBers are Gunter.

Gunter is really the only overly friendly guy   leading up to Olympia time. Some fans expect that act from all the others.  Try getting a handshake and conversation from Tiger before a Masters....or Federer before he plays me in the USD  Open!!!!

I can respect that, but surely you can see that it can also be perceived as terribly trashy and not exactly aiding the war against racial stereotyping.

I saw Phil just after his poor placing at the 07 Arnold and a small boy approached him asking for an autograph.

I couldn't believe what happened next.

The kid reached out to Phil with a picture and a pen ready for the autograph.....and....... Phil just walked right past and said something like "maybe another time dude"....

Total douche.

I later saw the child in tears being comforted by a distraught mother.

Martina Hingis did that to me the first time I asked for an autograph...and living up to her word took time out to sign for me rememberring i waited.   Not comparing the two   but....

This had to be made up, didn't Phil do well at the 07 Arnold? Plus, that was when Phil was Mr. Humble.

Phil was at the SENI expo in Birmingham earlier this year.

Was genuinely friendly and helpful to everybody over the two full days and this despite being tired and jet lagged.

Everybody can have a bad day.

Compared to pros from many other sports - be it athletics, tennis, ice hockey or soccer -  most pro bodybuilders are class acts when it comes to fan interaction.
