There was a woman who demanded some astronomical rate for a shoot - about 20 times the average - despite not being a big 'name' individual at all. When we finally got her back down to earth on pricing, she topped it off by missing the shoot altogether. *instant blacklist*
While that's not cool of her (or him...sorry Tre!

) to completely back out of the shoot after agreeing to it, did you ever stop to think why she quoted such an astronomical price to begin with?
I did a New Years Eve gig with a band one time, and the leader didn't want to even work- it's amateur night, and usually underpaid compared to the crap you have to put up with.
So a club owner asked the guy "How much to play NYE?" and since the guy didn't want to play in the first place, he just thought up a ridiculous figure off the top of his head. Usually going rate for a decent NYE in the circle is about $3-400 a man. We usually play with 4-5 pieces.
So the club owner was persistent, and the band leader just said $7000...and without blinking the club owner agreed. So we ended up doing the gig for $1500/man and the band leader got the extra gold off the top for misc. crap.
Perhaps that's why she ended up not doing the shoot altogether because she didn't want to, and feels if she's blacklisted or not, it's in her better interests not to do your shoot? (There's plenty of 'net porn out there anyway!)
